$ 75684.00

I damaged # 2 cylinder and have to rebuild the moter.
car runs 9.5 lbs of boost.
On the stage 3 set up it ran on the stock set up 13.08 on 19 inch toyos.
After the TC, slicks, tires, more boost it now runs 13.12 all day. Every time i went to the track the weather was bad or there was no trackion. Something allways went wrong.
Next mod is a 1320 TVS eaton blower runing on the Greddy e mangage ultimate. Getting rid of the stillen &th injecter and the SS box. Also getting a SC cam from Sam ( gt motor sports)
My car is a daily driver and except for loosing 40 psig compression and burning oil in # 2 cylinder it has caused me no problems.
Sams stroker moter looks better all the time. I spoke to him 4 weeks ago and he his a great guy who's product I will be buying soon.
24000.00 dollars and have yet to see a 12 second pass !!!

The car will go 12.4 at best on 360 wrhp.
My friends Mustage GT runs 13.4 on stock tires and a cold air intake.
Just think if I put that money into his car!!!!
12.5 easy or better. 11's ????
The difference is that my Z looks better and i can kill them on a road course.
To date no 350 z in my club has beat me yet in a heads up run. I was runner up this year.
+3 on driving it off a cliff-you are a horrible example of what a Z can do with $$$ spent-you also chose a weaksauce FI kit and have paid dearly for it. Congrats for running the same times as my NA bolt-on set-up

I think I'm a good example of going fast for not alot of money. The most expensive thing on my car is the wheel/tire combo, and even that was "cheap." Besides... the wheels, tires, and brakes didn't factor into my times so I figure I spent about 4 grand to run a 12 flat and I have yet to break anything. But I know the faster I go the more expensive it gets.

$4500 if you had bought the slicks/Welds Still an incredible value for what you've done. I spent around $7000 to run .1 faster with the TN kit-but I did many "safety" mods...

Nothing wrong with borrowing some tires to hook up with! I suppose if you want to add in "safety" mods I have to include the brakes. +$1200

No for you dont include safety mods, I had to run a RFS/UTEC because my TN flash ran lean. Brakes are not needed to run 12's

The GT500s are badass! A new Mustang mag modded one out a bit and had it running mid 11s with about $1k worth of mods. Sick power

Last thing I broke was the Stage II Axles from Drvieshaft shop. Actually the inner CV snapped and then ate up the inside of the axles.
I'm about to put in the Stage V but since they still use the stupid OEM inner Joint I'm not feeling very confident about it.

They BETTER be in the 9's.

LOL, You make it seem like those are some huge mods, when there really just bolt on..
Those numbers are pretty impressive is you ask me, stock bottom and top end and I think the car still has allot left in it.
I don't think that you have read about the KBshelby bone stock 801rwhp with a new blower..
The car has not been out that long I would say maybe 6-7 month and already in 9's I can't think of any other car out there that hit those numbers in such a short period of time in production... there's already a lot of guys running in the mid 11's..with mild bolt on.
Why do you say this car is only good in a strait line? is it because it's mustang or have you personally driven it?
Last time I checked it doesn't have a GT suspension, and we all know we can always make a cars lighter..if your interested about the suspension you might want to check out the FR500 in the gram am cup.
On another note, The cars msrp is at 43K almost fully equip. plus mark ups of 5k-20k right now.. I'm sure by the time the 08 year line up starts the prices will start to come down, plus by that time the new challenger and camaro will probably be out and will take some of steam of Shelby..
I know this for a fact, cause I can remember when the 350z fist came out and there's where some crazy mark ups on them to.
This happens in the car business all the time, if you don't think so wait wait until the GTR comes out I wouldn't be surprise it there some selling for 100K on ebay.

I heard some of the hybrid guys (Chevy motor/1rst gen. Z body) are using axles and diffs. out of an Armada suv. If that's not strong enough for you, try Ford 9".

Maybe a Z32 Twin-Turbo diff? Those R230 diffs are very stout and many 300ZX guys using their stock pumpkins for their 600, 700, 800hp Z's.

mechanically the car has been out much longer than that. its that same engine as the prev gen cobra with a stouter, higher displacing block, and a better supercharger. so when they were modifying this car, they weren't exactly pioneering anything, they were only applying the same thing they did to the prev gen cobra's and seeing how much power this can hold on the stock block and how much the supercharger could produce.

and btw, the same exact engine/superchanger has been used in the ford gt (gt was intercooled, not sure if the shelby is) for some time now

People spending 90k$ on thier Z i should go open a tuner shop. Hell one customer paying me 60k$ for one job would pay me enough for year(While i laugh on the way to the bank). Think about it, i could work what one month a year?

With the cost of my Z, Engine, Utec, and my own turbo kit i will be right around 39k$. Cheaper and will be faster than most anything i will come across when im done. I will be building my own custom fuel system, turbo piping. If i could **** money i wouldnt do it myself, but i wouldnt use any of the current turbo kits except for the SFR with something like twin Gt35 turbos. If you keep snapping axles you need to run smaller slicks so that they spin off of the line. When nothing is moving something is going to break.

The only thing i paid to have installed was my engine. When i added up the machine costs and parts to do it myself i would have only saved maybe 1500$, and it was not worth saving that when i could have a trouble free engine for a little more. 5000$ for engine managment you should of got Motec M600 for that.

Hey mrtomcat whatsup dude long time no see yes that is one reason i got rid of the z is b/c lack of driveable hp to maintain motor. Id own another z but im not happy at 500hp at top of 7000rpm. This is why i drive a bone stock Z06 now with 150shot and pulling 10.92 =)
