Default g-meter best time to date

this summer was the first time that i have ever tracked my car, but due to a failed 3rd gear syncro my best time was 14.7 because i had to wait about a second to let the revs match in 3rd before letting off the clutch. Anyway i finally got my transmission replaced about a month ago. and this morning was the first time i tried out my g-meter to see what kind of times i would run. now i know that the g-meter is not completely accurate but it gives me a good ballpark. i tried twice this morning but was dealing with wheel hop, possible due to the fact that it was 27 degres outside. my best run was 14.6. I was very dissapointed and could not figure out how not to wheel hop and get a good launch at the same time.

Finaly on the way home i tried one more time. I hooked up without any wheel hop and just a little bit of tire spin in 1st gear. a few beautiful shifts later i crossed the 1/4 at 14.12 @100.9 My 60ft time was 2.18. I know that this time is not completely accurate and there are others here that run better times stock but this is my first manual sports car i am absolutley hooked. I can't wait to get out there and do some more practice runs before the tracks open up again in the spring.

You have one hell of a disadvantage over time slips posted here: street tires on cold pavement with no preparation.

This spring get that bad boy to the dragstrip and lets see 13.90 seconds.

My GT2 timer was within hundreds of the actual track times. OP-wait till the track opens and try it again...

i am just using it for practice right now. i know that cold tires are not going to help me at all either. i did however drive for about 40 minutes on my way home from work before doing the run. There is a new road that they just finished right by my house. it is about a mile long, 70-80 feet wide, perfectly straight and has an incline at the very end. best of all there are open feilds on both sides so i don't have to worry about cars or anything poping up unexpectedly.

1000ft...11.87
1/8........9.17 @ 78.8
330ft.....6.00
60ft.......2.18

0-10 .42
0-20 1.25
0-30 2.03
0-40 3.25
0-50 4.25
0-60 5.47
0-70 7.42
0-80 9.12

i love this g-meter because i will really be able to compair a lot of aspect about each run with all of this info. I know right now that my 60ft time needs inprovement, but so do the conditions i am running in.

oh well practice practice practice

my goal for this summer is to hit a high 13.8 without any more mods
if i get a set of drs then 13.3-13.5

Alberto, did you calibrate/start the GT2 while staged on a prepped track?

I think that's the only accurate way to compare slips to accelerometers.
