wow.... maybe he was modded? you must have had a bad start. The fastest accord has like 250 hp and its fwd. soooo... i really dont see how you lost. And the best way to figure out the manual mode is to just **** around with it.

*smacks his forhead, of boy. I have an 04 accord, and its got some *****, tiny ones, its quick, just lacks torque majorly. I mean any manual will have you from the start cuz they can launch but you should definetly catch up fast in the Z. Never drove an older Z, just know my 07 would rip him one. My friend can take me pretty damn good off the line in his rubicon, but hes got like 4.11's i think and 240tq and stick, but i catch his *** in about 4 seconds lol.

the 03-05 AV6 coupe seem to avg 14.5 in the 1/4
the 350Z 5AT seem to average between 14.1 to 14.5. The Z should pull away.

I know a few guys with auto's and they said the triptronic did not help them in the 1/4 at all...then again they may just not know how to use it appropriatly.

I know a guy that has an accord with a few bolt on mods and it moves good!
I could see one staying in front if you got a bad launch on it...

Put some mods on and find the accord again!!

Who cares what you call it honestly, anyway i only go into manual mode to help engine break, ill usually drop to 3rd if coming to a stop or i use it to carve through curves, ill drop a gear or 2 and power through them. The AT Z would run a MUCH better time if we could launch. Thats our only weak point. Sometimes when cruising slow through a parking lot i leave it in first to listen to my exhaust lol.

I find it weird, when i get on it hard, the manual will shift basicly instantly, but if im just cruising slowly, it lags about half a second literally. Almost like it knows im not in a rush to shift into next gear.

My advice, if racing, drag or not, i would leave it in auto mode, if you shift a fraction too late and hit the rev limiter you screw yourself, auto mode will take it to redline long as you have pedal to the floor.
