I haven't been to the 1/4 track since last May, the night where my lone run netted me my 13.6. A local group rented a track south of us, MMP, and Cheryl(my wife) and I attended today. The track is widely regarded as a fast track, and conditions were great. Temps were in the upper 60s/lower 70's all day, there were no clouds, and the track prep was top-notch.
I got 22 runs today. Because the track was rented out, we could pretty much hot-lap at will. I'm not going to do what I normally do and analyze each run. Here are the runs in order:
So my new personal best is 13.264@103.96mph. And my runs can be summarized like this:
Missed 2nd on 3 of 22 runs - much better than my normal average. Today I short shifted 1>2 at 5 grand. After 13 straight runs without a missed shift, I decided to wring out 1st a little longer, which resulted in misshifts on two consecutive runs. Same thing on run #20; I wanted to get just a little more out of it.
3 of my launches finally saw high 1.8 second sixties.
Of my good runs, 18, 16 of those beat my previous personal best of a 13.6.
My two 13.2xx runs came later in the day as it warmed up. I started picking up some trap as well, which is weird, but at the same time my delta between the 1/8 mile and 1/4 traps shrunk as the temps increased.
I had one 14 second run, two 13.2's, three 13.3's, ten 13.4's, two 13.5's, and one 13.7.
I had four runs where I trapped 102, 12 passes where I trapped 103, and one pass where I trapped 104.
I have said many times that the difference between the trap on my first run and my best run of the day is typically in the neighborhood of 1.5mph. My first run yielded a 102.88, and my best trap was a 104.34, which is almost exactly 1.5mph.
This car has a few more 104mph passes in it, and possible a 105mph pass, if I can get to the track when the temps get in the 40's.
Summary: 13.264@103.96mph.
Pictures of the two 13.2x timeslips are in the top25 thread. The original thread on g35driver(http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185970) includes some low-quality videos if anyone is interested.
I don't post here much, so I figure most people aren't familiar with my car. It's an 05 G35 sedan, 6MT(revup). I've got a k&n filter, mrev+, ichiba headers, kinetix resonated test pipes, stillen sedan exhaust, utec tuned by Sharif, clutchmasters stage1 clutch, JWT flywheel, and BFG DR's. This car put down 246hp on Sharif's dyno last spring, and on the local dynojet was good for 266hp/248tq SAE.
DA for the time of the two 13.2x runs was 975 feet.
