is 1,140 feet high?

a question then, what would his times translate to at sea level?

Lowest Correction factor I have is for 1200ft... that would be
14.094 @101.46mph
13.9 @ 102mph...

Your 60ft needs some work..1 tenth off that alone would have gotten you a 13.8~13.9 easily.

The appropriate calculator can be found here: http://www.wallaceracing.com/Calculators.htm.

so the correction factors would be: 1200ft (elevation) - .9874 (E/T) - 1.0129 (MPH)

so how would his times NOT suck, DavidV?

a corrected 13.9, 100mph with mods like that is not a good run.

LOL. Its not my place to belittle any racer. Racers are always improving. Encouragement is easy. It only takes a few positive words.

very true. I was just commenting on those exact times.

if he improved his 60ft times it would shave alot of time off. even on stock tires 1.9s are possible, but 2.0s are good and 2.1s are respectable I think.

trap speeds are right on par (corrected that is) 100-101 for a stock non rev-up Z. those speeds with a good launch should net you mid-high 13s (i.e. 13.7-13.9) which I would consider respectable.

now, with him being modded it makes no sense that he has not gained any MPH over a stock car. a Z should trap in the 102-104 range with those mods.

so my recommendations to improve your times:

- lower tire pressure to 25psi and go from there
- remove the CAI, they suck.
- experiment with different launches. try launching at 2500 and slipping a little and see what that gives you... you want to be on the edge of traction.
- don't try 'chirping' into 2nd or third... just means you are popping the clutch too much

good luck and keep at it!

Not bad given the track & condition.

I think I ran against you. I'm the guy with the black G35 BTW.

I think his times were pretty good for his mods & the track condition. I ran at Firebird on friday also and got shitty times also (at ATCO & raceway park which I'm sure you are familiar with I would easily trap @ 102-103. The best I could do friday was a measily 100 ).

Youve never run at Firebird in your life so try not to compare times from an east coast track to one in a desert

With some practice I am sure your times will come down....I have seen much worse....15 sec ET's, 60fts in the 3's.....you nowhere near that bad so just keep practicing OP

Not every Z owner knows how to launch their car properly, especially those with 19" Volks and zero drag experience

Its a humbling experience for those guys but those are the guys who are more interested in dumping audio gear into their Z's than trying to wring out a few more tenths at the strip

I will call the guy just so I can get the exact figures off his slip if he even kept it....poor guy....beautiful car though
