07 70 shot + exhaust
yea it spun a lot, i didnt wanna do a 13.somthing or i would get kicked off the track cause i forgot my helmet at home and i really didnt wanna drive back. ill try again though and this time im not gonna forget the helmet, but i do have to work on the spinning outa the hole. im reving it up to 4.5k and letting out the clutch at kind of a fast pace, but not dumping it.
Unless you're on a set of drag radials or slicks there is no reason to be reving that high. You need to bring it down to between 2500-3000rpms and slip the clutch out the hole. Feather the throttle as you feel the car grab, once you can feel the car getting good traction fully release the clutch and put the go pedal on the floor. It sounds like you are just dropping the hammer on the gas pedal straight from home, unless that track is prepped with superman VHT thats going to net you nothing but short times in the mid 2 sec range as you found out. All this will happen very quickly but you'll get used to it with more seat time. Good luck man!!

My highest rev was 2800 and it was alot of wheels spin. Even at 2600 I got spin but grabbed enough to get a 13.4.
I would have never left the whole at 4500.
I ran stock tires and base one legged diff.
I need more seat time for a 4500 clutch slip..

The time in my sig was with 560rwhp and 600rwtq on a small nitrous shot, car went 11.1@127 with 520rwhp and 497rwtq on just blower. Both had 60' in the 1.6x range....

VeeTec managed a 13.1 with stock tire (baldish) and a "one legged diff"
on stock power and tires, the diff doesn't really make any difference in drag racing
and iirc he launched at 3500 rpm on that run

You also have to fact in track prep. Our track is bad and you have to be easy on the launch or it is hopless.
Practice, practice, practice ... but have fun doing it !!
Your first time out with the car will only give you a base line for yourself. Don't bother comparing what you are running to anyone else at this point. Just work on it and go a little faster each time out. Your only real competition is yourself.

Something else you might consider is the burnout.... If you do, try staying out of the water and that will help warm the tires up more. I have a g 35 w/ stock tires and i launch at about 1500-1700. I let off the clutch a little almost half way and apply the e-brake. I haven't ran in the 1/4 yet but that usually gets me good starts. Hopefully the track will be open this weekend so hopefully i'll be out there. But GL with the nitrous...Practice Practice Practice

And nice job...
I've had to relearn the new clutch and am having trouble slipping it for the 1.9 60's I'm used to, but the key is high RPM launches. I pulled .3 off my times once I got the clutch to slip some and let me launch at 4000 instead of 2000.
