Default 1st time out stock 04 Z six speed

I went down to Cecil with a bunch of my buddies for the Wed. test and tune. I wasn't sure what to expect out of the car stock. I haven't raced on street tires in a very long time (used to et streets when I raced my LS1 camaro). Anyways I was hoping to get in the 13.8's atleast (maybe more) on the 1st shot. The weather was pretty good and a fair amount of Z's there too. The car is 100% stock down to the potenzas in a 13000 mile car. Tires were at 35 psi all around.

1st run severe bog

60' 2.127
330 5.893
1/8 9.001
mph 80.28
1000 11.638
1/4 13.860
mph 102.54

2nd run blew off the tires ran 14.1x

3rd run still spun a little

60' 2.132
330 5.882
1/8 8.962
mph 80.96
1000 11.606
1/4
mph

4th run wheel hopped like crazy and it popped out of 1st aborted the run

5th run still spinning

60' 2.117
330 5.881
1/8 8.963
mph 80.83
1000 11.593
1/4 13.803
mph 103.11

6th run still a little spin but the best of the night

60' 2.089
330 5.853
1/8 8.930
mph 81.06
1000 11.574
1/4 13.794
mph 102.72

Overall I was hoping for a little better but not too bad for the 1st time. With a a little more seat time I think I can improve especially with a better 60'. I will post up the timeslip soon

This may have been the first time in the 350Z, but the numbers tell that you are not a first time racer. Nice driving.

BTW post your ET here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html

I just posted the best time in that thread. I have raced since 01.I have most of my experience in an 01 Camaro SS 6spd which I did a best of 11.19@124 1.60 60'. I also did 11's with only boltons stock motor and power adders were not included as boltons. Driving on street tires is not fun and I have about 20 passes on street tires in the SS and about 10 in a 1g gsx and 1g tsi. I think I can get well into the 1.9's and my time should improve. I wish I had a newer car with the extra power.
Does it count if I would add the HR cams and raise the rev limiter to compete with the 07's and 08's? I really dont want to go crazy with the car right now. Down the line I plan on doing a single turbo but for now I want to do some scca track days and keep it simple. I do have a problem keeping cars mild though.

Great driving, 103mph stock trap is strong for a DE motor!

I think u got the beast motor in your Z. Get that thing on the dyno quick. I know a couple of guys with just really fast Z's. And there crap drivers too, I drove there cars and it was night and day. Although im on my second engine and its gotton me 13.8. With my old motor with the same bolt-ons I couldnt get any better then a 14.1. That was after around 20 passes. New motor and 3 passes...13.8. I really think some are stronger then others by far.

No factory beast. Just great driving with great conditions.

The DA's were at -350. I believe his buddy on a G35 coupe, who ran with him on the same day ran 14.0 @ 102.4 with a 2.2 60ft (thread over at G35driver).

Cool man my 04 touring went 13.8 stock with an auto. You now have one of the fastest stock pre-07 Z's here. Congrats.

Yeah the conditions were good. Not to brag, but I am not an average driver either. I was pretty his on the LS1 bolton list too and didnt gut my car. Again not being cocky but check out the video at the bottom. Reaction time on that run wasnt good. I brought the rpms up to high and didnt want to kill the last run.
I have little experience on street tires and thats the weakest part of my runs. I drove my buddies 03 touring z and I think his car has more snot than mine does. Im sure we will have a dyno day and I will strap her down. We're going to go back and I am going to run both cars. IMO there is a bunch left on the table with seat time. I have only had the car for a month. I am pretty much committing this clutch to getting as deep as I can lol. I'll put another one in when I am done. I work on fast cars all the time no big deal.
That was my buddy and I think he has 13's in his car also. How deep is another story but not bad for a car that weight. He will have the video on his website soon

Yep - I'm his buddy with the G. Ran a best of 14.05 @ 102.3mph on a 2.19 60ft with it. Definitely has a 13.9 in it, possibly a 13.8 with same conditions as last week.

Here is a link to the thread I posted on driver: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215661

I also just came from an LS1 Camaro, and the VQ is definitely a fun platform. Not as much low end or mid-range in stock form, but still plenty of fun to drive all-around. I'm loving it.
