Daddyz runs those 18" BFG drag radials on the Rays wheels. I was out there in my mustang and he ran my friends Trans Am on the 12.8 run. I didn't run him but I watched him run a couple of times and it looks like the car really likes the boost.

on drs, run 14-16psi, heat them up good with water and a 2nd gear burnout the first time to the track. to launch, rev the car to 3500-4500 rpms, let the clutch out slightly(slipping) once you feel the car rolling floor it. Now this is all suppose to be done in one very smooth very quick action. 1.8s should be easy once you get the hang of it.

but really folks I got to give credit to both Chris and his friend. I was at best a low 13 second car until they taught me how to launch.
It was sure good I ran into you guys ... it made the day fun with all of us setting our personal best ...... just too bad the season is over
Chris I am glad you found this forum and me ..... I know that I can learn alot from the two of you when it comes to makeing my Z go even faster.
Your friend gave me lots of info on setting up my suspension in the future and I am already ordering those items I need.
Just for the rest of us Z owners, the stock suspension is way too stiff for drag racing. A good set of adjustible coilovers is going to fix that problem.
Also taking the front stabilizer bar off for draging will help load the rear for a better launch.
They showed me how to lighten the car with items like a motorcycle battery that will cut 20 pounds off the front. The list goes on and on ..... these guys have been into this a lot longer then me and know how to cut the 1/10 s
you need to post a few more of those tips there daddyz.
so take off front sway bar, then what?
lets go man...dont hold out on us...enlighten us....share the wealth.

adjustible shocks would be helpful but costly. I have ordered JIC's and will had the fronts as soft as possible once again to load the back.
camber is another area that our Z can gain better traction. In the rear you can adjust the camber yourselve and flaten out the rear wheel for been contact. Be sure to mare your stock camber so you can return it to that setting. Stock right now is a little negitive.
of coarse air pressure it a must to adjust. The fronts should be pumped as high as possible to reduce rolling resistence and the rears should be lowered just to the point that when you do a burn out on a flat clear surface you are getting a solid tire mark all the way across. If you lower the pressure too much on drag radials you can actually hurt the contact patch since the tire will concave with little to no contact in the middle. Too much air and the tire rounds with little to no contact on the edges.

That's a pretty good trap speed. What was your 60'? What kind of tires were you running?
