Default Low trap

How is this:
r/t .090
60 1.953
330 5.498
1/8 8.012
1000 did not record/timer out
1/4 13.165
mph 97.79

I always have low trap speeds, but this is the record for the ET I turned.

I don’t get it. Is there a 1/8 mile trap?

Theres definitely something wrong with the tracks system...97 Mph is more like a 14.2. Your trap should be like a 104-107 mph.

1/8 mile time is excellent. Then it takes you 5.15 seconds to get from 660 to 1,320 feet? Maybe just toss that time slip in the trash.

either the timer is messed up or the radar.

either way that slip doesn't make sense. you either trapped much, much higher or you ran a slower ET. judging from the 1/8 mile it is possible that you did run a high 13.

I will post the time slip. The 1000 foot marker was not available on all my slips that night........or anyones for that matter. There was something wrong with it and it wouldn't record to the timer. There were about 5 guys from the board out there, so there are people who saw this. Just wanted to see what you guys thought, but because i was so far ahead of the guy I coasted the last 50' or so, so I wouldn't break out. That is why the trap is so low.
Just seeing if you could figure it out.

I don't turn 107 even if I run a 13.00. It would be more like a 102-103 best.
I will post a bunch of time slips. I have half of them scanned now. I'll put it in a new thread this weekend. All low traps for the ET's. It is just me, the guys I run with at Infineon turn normal traps for the ET's they turn. Weds when I ran this trap a friend ran a 14.1/104 mph.....same track, same timer, same conditions one minute later. He is "Hopper" on this board.

13.1 is good for 104-107 all day long....definitely something wrong with the system. If you were letting off at the end then your trap could be almost right

I did and that's why it was that low.

Yeah, that is what I did.
Here is another one from that night. I'll post them later. This is a cocky guy in a Z that was mouthing off. I'll post this too.
Mine:
dial 13.00
r/t .209
60 1.991
330 5.539
1/8 not working
1000 not working
1/4 13.809
mph 90.76

I beat him by .4942 even getting on and off the gas, but see what happens to the trap if you don't keep your foot in it.
his:
dial 14.00
r/t .557
60 2.433
330 6.502
000
000
1/4 14.945
96.03

as you can see he can't drive and should have kept his mouth shut.

i can vouch for the system being accurate. i was there and running 101-102 traps at high 13's at the same time he was there.

lol @ my 14.1 @104. i guess thats what a 2.35 60' does

Edit: well, not for those obviously, but the other traps are low too, thought thats what you meant. The other traps being the timed, non-eliminations runs

read man, he was letting off. its vortech with a 1.99 60', 14.1 would be unrealistic

you know, i was thinking about this and i came up with a knock sensor retard at the higher RPM. that might account both for the low trap and the weird lag after shifting. thinking maybe something that only really happens at high rpm which would hurt your trap speeds. but maybe it carries over, since you have that shift kit its still applying retard after the shift is done. and you said it does and doesnt happen into 2nd, maybe because the ECU doesnt always get enough sampling to really retard in 1st and into 2nd. I dont know, just a thought. you should really look into picking up an uprev cipher so you could datalog a couple parameters during the run, then it would be easy to tell what was wrong. i dont know if youve ever looked into something like that, but theyre really easy to set up and use

PS: my new MAF is coming in today. the company i ordered from said it was vermont, but it shipped from redwood city. those tax-skimming slimeballs

Yep, I ran a 15 and won too. I only run what I need to when it comes to show time. It was getting cooler and the track faster, so I didn't want to break out.......so I redlighted instead after getting down to the last 6 cars.

That is the best explanation I have heard yet and it makes sense. I'll ask Rob about that. Thanks!

There are about 4-5 guys from here that go to Vegas on occasion. That whole race complex you guys have down ther is awesome. There are a lot of good drag racers at Infineon in all the classes.
