Default Need Help with my time (First time at the Track!)

I just got from the track and need to dissect my time. I have a G35 and weight 3700lbs with me with my Heavy Work VSXX 19's with 285 in the back. Weather is about 78F-80F with Humidity of about 70%. The 135i infront of me did worst than me and only trapped 100mph I got embarrassed by the New GTR who did a 11.9@116mph

Anyways here is my slip and wondering if switching to a much lighter wheel will help me improve my Trap and ET. I had 3 runs and every run my 60' was getting better (2.45, 2.27, 2.195) I think if I had a another run I can do much better with my 19's. I'm only pushing about 360whp-370whp (DJ) and wondering what is really hurting me.

Oh, I also have a Rear-Mount Turbo so heat soak was a little problem since I couldnt really shutdown the car for a long time else my turbo is going to get cold fast..

Of course weight savings will make you faster, especially when its rotating mass. The 60ft isnt bad or good, but the 1/8 is slow for the 2.1 60ft and the power. That tells me your shifting slow 1-2 and 2-3, this is also killing your traps. Work on that....

It was my first time and all my focus was on the launch.. I know I can improve my shifting.... I also went to a Hess gas station just before I went to the track (it was the closes one I found) and I was knocking on the higher rpm at the track. I took a glance at the logs and utec pulled almost 5 deg at one point. So do you think my wheels are also hurting my trap or just the shifting?

Edit:
I only hit around 5-6psi on first and maybe 6-7psi on 2nd (full boost is 8psi) so I'm not really getting anything from it so that could be the reason my 1/8 mile is weak

This makes more sense now, as your trap is not indicative of the 370rwhp. Under any and all circumstances for an FI car, you should run race gas, like 100 octane, when racing.

You did good. I see a 2.0 second 60 foot time soon.

The car is good for 13.30 seconds.

The timing being pulled killed your top end. But even with barely any boost in 1st, you should make up for it in 2nd and 3rd gear. The car did what it could, next time better gas and work on shifting. I trapped higher in the 1/8 and 1/4 NA, even spinning you should easily beat that.

The hard part of getting the 1st time out of the way is over, its all improvement from here on out.

I'll be trying again when the weather gets colder. I know my trap suck but let assume the worst and that is the best trap I can get with my Heavy 19's (106-107mph) which I'm hoping I can improve with better launch and shifting. How low can I go with lighter wheels with DR's assuming I can get at least 1.8-1.9 60'?

How low can what go? The faster your 60' and ET, the more your trap will lower. If you made 370rwhp, you just need to run high octane to insure no detonation and timing retard. That sounds like enough power for a low teen trap.

Well my car weight more than the 350z (the car weight 3700lbs with me) so not sure if I can trap in the teens with my G35. I think part of the lower trap is that I didn't really get to let the car cool down since my rear-mount turbo will go stone cold real fast if I do. So going with a lighter wheel wont improve my trap either? Also meant how low my ET can get with 1.8-1.9 60' with my trap 106mph

Reducing weight is always advantageous but that is not your primary concern. Its 60 foot time. With practice and good staging pad conditions you can run 2.0 seconds on street tires.

I'm just a little upset with my Trap but I'm not worried about the ET since I know I can bring down my 60' close to 2.0. My first 60' was 2.6 but that is because I mis-shifted on 2nd gear, my 2nd run was 2.45, then 2.27 and on my forth try was 2.195 (4 run total). I was getting the hang of it but my buddy wanted to go home. My last run was really the only time I felt comfortable and not pressured. I also bogged down a little on my last run so I know I can bring it down more even with my 19's.

scotts300 said that as you get faster time your trap goes down but in my case the more I cut down my 60' and ET my trap gets higher
