Question 350z vs Trans Am

Ok guyz theres this girl that I go to school with and she is always taunting my car by reving while shes in back of me waiting for the light to turn green to leave school. So she finally calls out my car to take it to the strip so I can race her. I race her in about 2 weeks. So my question to you guyz is who would win my 2003 350z (standard) or Her Trans Am w/modified exhaust(auto). Oh I think its a 1999.

If you can drive and she can't, you might win. But her having an auto takes some of the skill out of it. Just pray she can't launch (I don't know how involved an auto launch is, I've only done MT). She's looking at a best of mid-low 13's while you're looking at a best of mid-high 13's. Drivers race...

The 99 TransAm has a LS1, low 13 sec car. You have a much slower car. You don't stand a chance sorry to say.

there is not much you can do in two weeks, best thing you can do is go to the track a week before the race and practice, get your launch down etc....

Yep, she'll take you. The LT1 is something to laugh at, but the LS1 is no joke.

Or... you could always get NAWS!!!

There's no skill in an auto. The faster they go, the worse it'll get.

Psh, go practice, get your R/T down. Is it first one over the line, or lowest time?

If it is stock, on street tires, and you are a decent driver, it's possible. My G NA in the 1/8 runs 8.80s, and most stock auto Trans Ams run low 9s with occasional high 8s. I think you have a shot, lots of variables.

strip all the extra weight from your car.

spare, sub box, empty your windshield cleaner tank, run with 1/4 tank of gas, take out the pass seat and replace yours with a light aftermarket just for the race.
See about a CF hood or hatch loan from a friend if you can find one that lines up with your car well enough.

If she's hot tell her the loser has to go down on the winner (you likely make out well no matter what)

Here's the update guys I lost she beat me by 1 1/2 cars, but turns out she
thought I was super cute and we started going out last night and
I taught her how to drive a stick! This chick had a funny way
of showing that she liked me.
P.S she's pretty cute and knows more about cars than me
that freaked me out a little.

But thanks for all the advice though guys!

Gratz. You didn't do to bad then. 1-1/2 cars is about .15 secs in the 13 sec range.
