Default Would I run faster on my stock rims, vs 19" volks?

Hey guys,

Went to the track a few weeks ago, and was disappointed with my times.
I have a 6M 07 touring, with intakes and bassani exhaust, sittin on Volk Gts'... I ran a 14.2 three times. My 60' sucked @ 2.2 - 2.3 and I was crossing the line at 100 Mph everytime...

Didn't seem like I was having too much wheel spin on the launch...

Would I have ran a better time on my stock 18's??

The elevation up here is 2100 feet, I'v heard people say to knock off about .5s off that time due to the elevation being so high...

Any input thx.

My 60ft was also 2.2 and I ran a 13.7.

But that is of no relevance since your elevation is high up and it shows in your trapspeed. So much for the lightweight Volk rims..

So what should my trap have been around?... 103 or so?... Did you run yours on stock rims?

Yes when I ran my car then it was all stock.

My best advice is for you to compare with another Z's timeslip your area. Your elevation seems relatively high, so it will be difficult for me to tell you what you "should" be running.

Where I live (Houston), we are at sea level. I usually see HR's trapping around 102-104mph.

the 19's maybe hurting your trap, but you really need to focus on your 60ft which the 19s dont effect. Depending on what tires you have, the stockers are probably a better choice, and atleast you could get more practice in and not have to worry about buying new rears for the 19s. An A/M intake is useless on the HR and GTS are heavier I believe around 27 or 28lbs from what I remember. what are you launching at?

Last year on my 19's I couldnt run faster than a 13.9 and ran alot of 14.0's and 14'1's. This year with my 19's off I've been running 13.8 everytime I go.

Yeah I really think I need to go out on my stock 18's. Too bad it won't be until next year now as I'm going to park it for the winter... oh well

i ran a 13.8 with my heavy *** 19in Niche Venice wheels. I dont know the specific weight of those wheels but im pretty sure they're heavier than volks

IMO, i say its just the way u launch that makes the difference
