First time dragging the Z
I took the Z to the drag strip for the first time on Saturday.
I had a great time with it, straight line was more fun than I expected. Now I have this urge to get DR's and go back and try to top my old times. I was car 41. The last slip where I barely won, was vs. a Chevy SS trailblazer.
Nearly
by an SUV. hehe

Basically just a stock 04 touring 6spd. The 2.0 60' times were launching at 3k, the 2.1 was at 4k (abusing the clutch). Nismo CAI + Nismo cat back. RPF1 18" wheels, T1Rs 255/275, full tank of gas, 200lbs driver.
Hopefully my 60' will come down a little and my MPH up a little with DR's and more driving practice.. this was my first time on a drag strip since 99'. Fun stuff.

You are doing exceptional with 60 foot time. Nice. And the Z is running good picking up 21.7 MPH in the second 660 feet.
If I see one area for improvement its the first to second gear shift.

Thanks for the compliments. Thank you for pointing that out too about the 1-2. I know that my driving isn't totally on point, but I was happy with what I ran for what I have and considering I haven't been down the strip in 10 years.
I had a few runs that I didn't post where I either messed up, got bad wheel hop, or spun first followed by wheel hop. The thought of wheel hop might have had an effect on my driving and might have had a negative effect on the 1-2 shift. Maybe I'm just not on it.
I've read that a fat, higher profile tire on smaller wheels (DR or slick) will absorb some of that energy and reduce the wheel hop problem. I hope that a set of DR's will let me stop thinking about the wheel hop and focus a little better on driving it.
