Default Mason Dixon Dragway???

Well, leaving sunny FL for southern Rainsylvania (LOL). I grew up just north of Hagerstown, MD on the PA side, and my wife and I are relocating. Although I grew up there, I haven't been to the local drags (didn't know what I was missing as a young tike). I vaguely remember a few of you guys mentioning the track and figured I'd be able to meet up w/ some of you out there. The move is ongoing through the month of August, might make it to a test-n-tune in Aug, if not, definately in Sept. After the latest round of upgrades, I have the bugs worked out of the car and seem to be down to tuning, so I am itching to get to the track.
Hope to meet some of you soon,
Regards, Mike

Welcome back to the Tri-state area.

When you head to the track shoot me a PM. I live real close to it and will try to get away from the wife and kids to make a couple passes with you.

What all is done to your car? What kind of times are you making?

Cool, although we have the 07 roadster, I race my 71 240z. Mods list is long. It is good for mid 9's on a bad night and low 9's or better on a good one. I have recently installed methanol injection and am working on the tune (still PIG rich, but coming around). It is progressive, so the more boost I run, the more meth it sprays. Anyway, it is a fun car. I ahve been a member of Z clubs for years and years, so it is cool to meet up w/ other Z folk, especially ones who appreciate racing. :-)

Mike
I am not familiar with all the license requirements that may be enforced at Mason Dixon. I'm lucky to keep a consistent low 13 run (not many rules enforced/apply on me) Hope to hit 12s with the new gears.

I usually just do the T&T runs for personal satisfaction (fun). I would bet that if another track rental happens this fall. He would be more lenient for the private rental then the public T&T.

BTW...It would be cool to see you make a 9 sec pass. There is another (gray I think) 240/260 that runs at Mason Dixon. I believe he's got a V8 swap.

Mason Dixon seemed to be getting stricter since the last time I ran there from what people are telling me. I used to work at the prison in Hagerstown and I'd hang around after work on nights they had events. It was some good fun, and I hope to make it back soon.

<-----typically runs at Mason. I haven't been since April with the combo of rain, work, and other priorities though. I always seem to run pretty well there.

Thanks for the heads up. I probably wouldn't have known until got down to the end of the track for the first time if you hadn't said anything!! Any complaints about track prep on t-n-t nights or does it usually hook up pretty good?

It is usually prepped fairly well for small, local track. Best bet for traction is to go on one of the days with t&t and a subsidiary event (you will get fewer runs though).

yea no problem man, as for the track prep what he said is pretty spot on, I have never really had problems with their track prep

Well, bumping this up, as reloaction to the area is complete... I intend to head to the track Friday (tomorrow). Come up and introduce yourselves if you make it out, as I don't know too many people in the area anymore :-) i'll be in the yellow 240z

BTW, anyone know where to get methanol, or have nitrous bottles filled in the area? I have been calling around (for the meth) and have been coming up empty handed...fortunately, I should have enough for one track night. How many passes can I typically get in a regular T-N-T night at Mason Dixon?

Hey Mike...sorry to see you leave the Sunshine State. I wish you the best up there in Rainysville .

For you guys up there in his area, if you ever get the chance to see Mike and his 240Z at the track, you will be very impressed. The little 240 hauls a$$.

All the best,

Tom

Thanks Tom,
I'll be back to visit though. My wifey still has family in the area and we both left many close friends behind. I'm going to try to make it down to the World Street Nationals this fall. It is always an awesome event...

So Z-Gad.....planning any time at Mason soon. The weather is starting to cool down. I will be out of town for the only T&T in Sept, but I plan to make a few in Oct. I'd like to check out your 240.

I didn't even see T&T for tomorrow..........I just bought some DR's, and will probably hold off on running until they arrive, but I might stop bye for a bit. It's only a 15 min drive for me.

Crappy night for me...
Tech was strict for a t-n-t night
My competition license expired 2 months ago, so I was limited to 10.0 times. I had the relay for my nitrous kit fail, so I couldn't build boost at the line. I would drive out to the 330' mark before the car would wake up... All and all, just a frustrating night...
I'll get everything sorted out and be ready next time.

I saw you making passes and walked bye your car, but you seemed quite busy so I let you be......lol. Tech was very strict as well. For whatever reason I was trapping 3-4mph below what I was two weeks ago, but oh well. I got there late, but it seemed like you got 6-10 passes.

There was another z there on DR's, but was running 14.2-14.3 from what I saw.

I was the z on drag radials. Somthing is wrong with my car. I couldnt get above 97-98 mph. The service engine light came on and it wont idle. I think ive got a vacum leak. I went 13.8 finally later but at 98 mph. Last weekend in the 1/8th I went 8.55 at 80. I like the 240 by the way.
