Default drive shaft loops

Well since there are alot of fast Z/G's that drag alot, where are people getting their drive shaft loops.

Technically you need them for all RWD cars running 13.99 or quicker with slicks and 11.49 or quicker with street tires must have a retainer loop 360 degrees
of enclosure, 1/4-inch minimum thickness and 2 inches wide, or
7/8-inch x .065-inch welded steel tubing, securely mounted and
located within 6 inches of the front universal joint for support of the
driveshaft in event of U-joint failure.

After pushing my car into the garage with the driveshaft hanging, its easy to see how that could pogo stick your car if it wasnt looped.

So post up the pics, or info on what you are using

Interesting requirement for the naturally aspirated 350Z. I know of no one running, say, 13.7 seconds with slicks. But I guess it is possible.

Every time I go to Capital there is 1 tech who threatens to not let me run since I don't have one, but he always lets me go. He is the only one who has ever brought it up.

I always put 14.1 on my sheet so they never ask me.

hmm, guess I'll have to PM SP and IP, since they run fast cars that pass tech everytime.

Its not really about the rules, I just dont wanna have a launch at 140 mph if the driveshaft decides to shear some bolts.

SP runs at tracks that don't give two shts about tech. They might have one - I have no idea on that, but Byron Dragway, GLD, and US41 Dragway (the tracks that they run at, not sure if they ever run at RT 66 but I doubt it) all don't even make you pop your hood, let alone check under the car for a driveshaft loop.

There are like 3 braces and the exhaust which all sort of act like a driveshaft loops anyways. Between that fact and the fact that you aren't making huge power, it's not something I'd worry about in the slightest.

PM sent.

We have a bolt in / bolt on solution that requires no modifications and no removal of the driveshaft for install. Call us to order: 859-224-0461.

...not to mention the Z's driveshaft is carbon so in the case of a driveshaft failure, it would shatter well before it would pogo stick your car in the air.

Why are you pushing your car around with the driveshaft hanging??? If you nick up the carbon you can compromise the physical integrity of the shaft and are asking for failure.

I have a g35 (so no carbon fiber)

Why aren't you using a drive shaft loop? why even take the risk for a $50 part? And not everyone lives near a track that doesnt tech the cars properly.

Well then get yourself a driveshaft loop. (I didn't know you had a G35)

Have you seen the underside of a Z? You can hardly see the driveshaft because of everything that's bolted on under it. There is NO WAY that thing is getting out of there if it broke and like I said before it would just shatter anyway.
