Default Took my Vortech G to the track today...mehhh...

I went to the track today and I kinda surprised how slow my car was....not so much the trap speed but the launch was non existent....I could not even get the tires to chirp in 1st gear no matter how hard I tried and yet my 60ft times were mid 2.2's. My car is simply too weak down low.

My best time was 13.51@105mph with my best mph being 106mph.

My mods are as follows.

2003 G35 5AT
Vortech w/ 3.12 pulley
600cc injectors + walbro
Osiris Tuner
Skunk2 Plenum Spacer
Megan racing long tube headers
Ebay 3" "nismo" exhaust
3.5 Final Drive
Trans go shift kit

This was with absolutely no weight reduction, 93oct gas and my 20" wheels which I know don't help.

Should I shoot myself....or do you guys think this is normal?

EDIT: It was also 91*F outside.

hmm maybe the track wasnt prepared right?? Well try getting a hold of 18X9 rims and seeing if you see a differance, that could see wether or not your car is being a lemon.

First mistake was to get an AT.... JK!!!!

You could try to find some lighter wheels next time(smaller size definitely).
Other than that... GL! Oh and if you don't go to the track that often, you should practice more.

You guys mention practice....but wheel spin was NOT a problem...I could not get the wheels to spin no matter how hard I tried. I would just powerbrake and let go of the brake....that's it...lol. The car has ZERO traction problems.

13.5 seconds is bad. We have all-motor G35s running better times.

Are they automatic? If they are, do they have high stall converters? What are their trap speeds?

I've looked around for 5AT Vortech G35's and I can't find any time slips...neither here nor on G35 driver. The quickest I could find N/A 5at ran 13.4@101 with 1.9 60ft times.

Bone stock my car would do mid 14's at 95'ish mph so it's a pretty big improvement over stock...just not what I had hoped.

Something's not right with the car. A supercharged G should be pulling higher than 105-106mph through the traps I would think. I agree with some of the other posters, take those 20's off. Put on some smaller wheels with drag radials or really wide street rubber and see what it does. If you really want some fun, get some 15-inch wheels with 275s (drag radials). You will be able to pick an RPM and go.. HARD. That is, unless something isn't right with your Vortech.

Still seems low, I trapped 113mph with 3.12 pulley street tuned with the SS box.

349whp which I know is low but I have no idea why since the tune seems spot on.

According to the G35 Top 25, my car would be 2nd in the N/A list while none of them go over 103mph ( mine, when corrected, would be over 106mph )...they all launcher harder which I can't due to my low stall and low torque. Can't be compared...my car is most definitely faster than most N/A G35's ( except for the most extreme ) but I know it's still missing something...

There is also another Vortech G35 in the list that ran 13.2@105mph...my car ( with DA corrected ) would almost match that and beat the trap speed...but it's also the slowest vortech.

I have no idea what's wrong with my car. I can see my cars weight ( about 3700lbs with driver ) and the fact that the 5AT doesn't help on the launch being a problem...but damn.....
