Default Auto Z 03' in 1/4 mile got 13.96!!!!

Thats right i just went lastnight to San Antonio Raceway for the first time to race my beastZ and see what times i actually can get for my auto/manual. All i have is a K&N filter and thats it. My first run was a 14.6 since i wasnt used to the track after that the times just got lower and lower, im so proud of my Z getting these times u dont usually get in a Z unless u have a stick. My auto I just went for the auto manual opt and got my last run in with 13.96 @ 102mph. If u dont believe me i have proof of my slip, heres's the pic enjoy and mad props for having the only Z there lastnight representing, and keeping up with all kinds, cheers!

ps.sorry for the shitty pic quality

Any Z running better than 14.0 seconds is good. 13.9 may not make our Top-25, but nice driving.

im glad you hooked up. usually the auto Z have better luck than the standard Z's at san antonio race way. To top it off i have the stupid csc problem :0(. Now mod it and see if you can beat that time.

Come to the track day we are having on the 19th and find out, there wont be many cars there so no pressure, plus there will be plenty of people to give you pointers...

for comparison I ran a 13.92 in another members stock auto Z (DE) my first time out, I think an auto Z could pull a a low 13.8(possibly better) in the right conditions at our tracks, but either way come out, doesnt matter what you run, its a good time .

I cannot see the time slip so it is difficult for me to point out a key area for improvement but...

Tire height is used to adjust finish line RPM. In other words you want to cross the finish line at maximum RPM is a particular gear. For example the top of fourth gear is better than the bottom of fifth. The extra shift costs you in ET.

Adjustments to finale drive, redline and tire height all have a similar purpose.

I was told 18's would be ok, and 19's would be as well, but make sure they are light wheels. But thanks for the info

this is a very stupid and immature post.... By the way 2 seconds in the 1/4 is an eternity.... I believe his point was that automatic Z's run a torque converter , and thus even in manual mode still behave as an
automatic.... Unlike a direct shift gearbox (DSG) found in many cars which utilizes a twin/dual clutch transmission....please educate yourself before making ridiculous comments about your "auto manual" as you put it...

LOL-somebody understood what I meant, I figured it would fly over his head.

And its not 2 seconds its 2.8 but who cares.

The fact he called me jabronee makes me want to drop an AIDS infected people's elbow on him...

Congrats Man. I know exactly how you feel breaking into the 13's your first time out. I was soo pumped when I did it in my auto. Next time you go try taking out your air filter you should gain a little mph and throttle response. Goodluck
