First Time 1/4 mile 101 hellp plzz
hows it going guys, so long story short tom will be the first time i run my z down the track (island dragway) and basically i have some ?s n would appreciate any help you guys can give......
*im still running my stock 17s.. what psi should i be running for best times?
*what rpm range do you find ideal for a decent launch?
*what would be a good time range for a 1st time 1/4 mile driver to try and reach. (i am stock except for jwt popcharger, and td exhaust, no tune)?
*any other useful tips or advice would be appreciated...thanks in advance i appreciate it

24 psi in rear tires. dont burn out as it does nothing for street tires. simply spin them over once before staging the car.
in a stock car i would try to leave around 5k riding the clutch a bit till you get moving.
i say you will be lucky if you run a 14.2
and this should probably be in the drag forum

with my drag strip(s.a drag strip i think it called) with new tires i launched at 2.5ish and feathered the clutch a little and got a good launch but you will have to experiment on what does best for you. don't expect to get good launches first time out.

Don't spin in first gear; You will lose a half second+ from doing this.
I like to launch (stock 18" rims) at around 4k, but ride the clutch so it doesn't spin the tires.
I ran 13.7-13.8 (0 sea level) with Injen Exhaust, OBX pulleys, Injen Intake, Kinetix v2 upper plenum w/ no tune, but running 13.5ish af/r WOT with my wideband set-up, so I didn't need a tune.
Shoot for high 13's with a good launch.
Bad launch can put you in mid-high 14's

well, went to the track friday... only was able to get two passes in since only one lane was working correctly that night but anyways... first run.. (15.02ish) second run 14.89 @ 96 mph... keep in mind i didnt take my rpms to the max as i am running lean (need my tune) and im sure my psi wasnt exactly on point which caused a **** load of wheel hop and spinning at the start.. hopefully some more practice will make perfect lol
