I have been to Houston Raceway park but I have never raced their. I would drive up their to get a couple of runs in. I usually run at SA Rivercity and I AutoX near South Padre.

Not only is it 2800ft above sea level, but it also is going slightly uphill? That track does suck!

You don't want to strip too much weight from your car, btw. Especially the back end. If you're having a problem hooking up, why not try and add some weight to the back end? Depending on how much time you're wasting spinning tires, you could actually benefit from added weight. I know nothing about your racing conditions though, so I apologize if that seems like a stupid suggestion. Less weight in the back is going to keep you from hooking up at the line though. Obviously drag slicks are going to help you hook up too :P Good luck.

yeah it does go slightly up hill...

i havent gone back there for a while... im building my car up to be a track car / drift car... not a drag car...
