ah...that makes MUCH more sense...I was confused when he said that it was only 500 feet. Thanks for clearing it up

shifting without lifting your foot off the gas pedal...also called full throttle shifting.

"Real" powershifting is shifting without the clutch...now that's some wear on the drivetrain.

Ohh, see most of the time I'm just not familiar with the terminology. I have actually tried both of those mothods. The "real" way is very hard in the higher gears IMO (atleast on my old RSX-S). I could only do it to 4th gear (had 6). I have never tried it on the Z though.

So are there any benefits to the generic power shifting? It only really seems like a time saving procedure more than anything...

I don't think so.

i'm surprised no one asked this, and i just read every single post... how do you launch your car? i've trapped 103 once when i ran a 13.8 w/ stock re040's (17's) dropped to like 25 psi, but most of the time my launches suck and i can't hook up... i was at the track this past wed. and my best runs was a 14.2 w/ 2.3 60ft... i just ordered lmgt4's w/ toyo t1-s, i'll see how that goes...

edit ***just saw you other thread (w/ videos) on how you launch... daamn ,slipping at 4k, how many miles on your clutch?*** nice runs!

24K miles on the clutch/car......it's a quick slip from 3-4K on the tach...

You're rim/tire upgrade will probably be worse than your stockers...I pulled a few low 2.0 60's on the stock 18in RE040s...and my summer rims are 18s with 275 rear S-03s and they don't hook up AT ALL.

Can you link to the video of your launches? I just got back from the track, and I was doing consistent 14.75XX trapping at about 96 MPH. My 0-60 times were about 2.5 or so. I guess my launch is my weak point, I was shifting at about 6300 RPM.

Otherwise, I did manage to win the import competition bracket racing contest $100 bux in cash, on my first night!
