there is already a bolt on z in the 12's. I cant imagine he is putting down more than 270rwhp either. His trap was 106 so that mph has 12.6-7 potential with a good enough 60'.

last time I checked I didn't CALL you an idiot..I simply said that if you think hp has anything to do with 60' then you are an idiot. Stop crying about it.

and for the record i am not "swinging my nuts" ove rhow much HP, just stating the facts, if a 450hp with a GREAT launch can barely do mid 11's how do you think a 300hp car will? Just dont see it. Some of the BEST 350Z times i have seen on this site with some of the 400+hp 350z arent pulling mid 11's (or are just barely) Hell even those maniacs running the 375 only ran a mid 11(granted they blew their engine)

I don't think you can read very well. I NEVER said that a 300hp car will run in the 11s....all I and Jackie are saying is that with the right set-up a 350-370rwhp 3300lb car CAN go 11s...and for the record a 1.8 60' in a 450whp car is not "GREAT".

All i'm saying is........good luck with that!

Nothing to be defensive about, difference of opinion. 350Z is a great car, i loved mine to death and made one HELLUVA road course car..........but even for the above average owner, it'll never be a mean 11 second dragster
I don't think that has ANYTHING to do with this thread...some guy wanted to know how much power it would take to get into the mid 11s..and that in itself isn't really a good or educated question as it takes much more than just hp to run quickly down the 1/4 mile. So, spouting off about how the 350z shouldn't be a drag car is worthless in this thread.

I would honestly say you need 400+ rwhp to run reliable 11s in a Z. You can obviously do it with a lot less hp with an amazing 60' time, but for how long? I would rather have a car that runs 11.9@120 vs 11.4@113 for example.

I guess my question should have been

"How much RWHP is required for mid 11's with 1.8 60ft"

I don't think the question was necessarily about reliability...but if you want to talk about that..there's a guy on these forums who sprays into the low 11s with only a 150shot I believe...he has upgraded halfshafts and pulls 1.4-1.5 60' times...consistantly and hasn't broken with the new halfshafts.

Every .10 decrease in a 60 ft makes you .18 quicker in the total 1/4 time.

I would take note from bluefish, they know what they are doing.

BTW, what would 650rwhp and 650rwtq get in the 1/4 mile? An estimate, ~3350lbs., 350Z...

Offtopic, but are you gonna be at Mopars at the Rock in April? I'll be down there with a bunch of other R/T's and I've been looking to line up with a Viper

your HP has nothing to do with the ET you run....your trap speed = your HP.

case in point is exactly what the guys mentioned above...ultra high hp Supras that cannot break a 12 because of the lack of traction. But they also can trap 130. I remember being at the track with a buddy one day in his Surpa when he first got it (its now one of the uber high HP ones). He had never drag racerd before but had some work done to the car. Car ran a 12.6...certainly nothing special...at 124 mph
