im doing the same, i have a VQ out of an 06 with the rev up motor. i am tube framing from the strut towers forward (due to an incident with the canyon) and im keeping the motor stock... ish. lol. stock intake because with a K&N drop in filter has proven the most gain, plenum spacer, custom headers, and full true dual exhaust WITH cats. i am also using OEM ECU as well. a good aftermarket ECU that has both variable valve timing intake and exhaust is hard to come by for a good price. let alone to find a good tuner. so stock it is. i have all the parts from the same 350Z so the NATS system shouldnt be a problem. one advantage i have is im completely taking EVERYTHING out of the 240 (coupe btw) and im laying in the 350Z chassie harness too! as of motor mounts im using the stock 350Z bushings and mounts, im just going to notch my cross member and weld in an appropriate mounting point and gusset it. we also share that our cars will be caged to approved spec for compitition. i am going to use a hybrid tranny mount, the bushings and a custom mount to the chassie of the car. i am using a custom driveshaft using the 350Z tranny yolk. im still questioning the use of the 350Z diff with A LOT of modification to fit the 240sx rear subframe (if i do this i will be able to use the beefy 350Z halfshafts and the 350Z rear hubs bolt up too! but the brakes i will have some troubles with). OR some how getting the speed sensor off that diff and welding it to the 240sx diff. i dont know, i still havent taken a good look at my rear subframe, nor have i found adaquate pics. as of shifter location, i am taking a different route, im tall anyways so im going to cut the tranny tunnel for the stock shifter and shifter position. and space the pedals and 350Z steering wheel back appropriatly. thus sitting me further back, giving me an enhanced feeling of angle while sliding. KEN GUSHI drove a corolla like that, sat back 6 inches, and he could not stop raving about how much he "felt" the car. also i am going to try to use the 350Z dash (minus the airbags) if it doesnt fit well (i also think for compitition you need to retain the STOCK dash that came in the car? i dont know for sure) i plan to use the 350Z gauge cluster and the 3 gauges in the middle of the 350Z dash and graft them into the 240 dash. i am using the 350Z pedals and wireless throttle. on an asthetic note i am also going to attempt to put the 350Z door handles on the 240sx! also im going to do a crazy headlight set up. lazy eye style with fog lights. but instead of fog lights, i am cutting out the 350Z dual beam HID's from their headlight housings, and fabricating headlights! i think it will look pretty cool. and bright! thats pretty much what i can go off of without opening the book. i will have pics as soon as it gets done with its welding in the shop. in the mean time im polishing all the engine parts! once im done, there will be a write up on www.engineswaptech.com you can also visit that site for some excellent info on this swap. DeadPirateProductions are filming the swap so there will be a video too! as of release date? hopefully summer time.
PS: as of weight, VIA engineswaptech.com with pics, the KA24DE (with everything on it) weighs in at 329lbs without tranny. the VQ35DE (with everything on it) weighs in at 330lbs without tranny. tranny weighs more than the KA tranny i would venture to say. due to an extra gear and everything is MUCH, MUCH beefier!

i dont really understand what your point is...
maybe start a thread for your car when you start putting all the ideas you have in motion...
in other news, the engine is about ready to start on an aem universal box... have some more pics, but nothing new really, mostly been doing wiring and such, and chassis stuff not related to the vq...

Cool. I cant wait to see it Carluch!
Roysuke, sounds like you have a lot of cool ideas and all, but sounds like a rediculously extensive project. Im sure many people would love to discuss it with you as well, but you should just start your own thread.

Nice project! Was this VQ out of Chris's roadster? Its funny I found this thread cause Im working with Team Rockstar/Pacific Rim on the same project. I have spare Rev Up VQ's just laying around from warranty so we decided to start this project once their S15 is done. Congrats though, looks great!

its not the motor out of the convertable, but chris has definitely contributed a ton to get the beast going...
