Anyone unplug thier abs before drifting?

If you stay on for more than a couple of seconds then yes the ECU will cut power. But you shouldn't ever need to be on both throttle and brake at the same time for more than a second or two, while drifting or racing.
If you thought about it that way, then you would need to use your left foot to brake period, cause your right foot wouldn't be doing anything anyway. From my knowledge the transition is so close, that at times left foot braking while on the gas might happen. Obviously you can't do that in the Z without removing a plug.

This is why you would want to disable your ABS.
BRAKE DRIFT - Is one of many drift techniques which requires the ABS to be disabled in order for it to work. You trail brake into a corner and lack of ABS makes the rear wheels loose grip thus starting a drift.

HAVE CAR OFF, disconnect grey plug...
when you turn the car back on, the SLIP, VDC and ABS lights in the dash display will all be "ON"
the car's rear tail lights and everything will all work still...........you just wont have any ABS....
and yes, if the drift course is demanding, you need mad skillz with the left foot brake'n abilities.......so abs needs to be off...
DONE and DONE!

I know this thread is kind of old but I just want to make sure I unplugged the right thing. I took a pic of it.
I have an 04 base model and that was the only plug on the ABS motor. My ABS and my brake light are on. The feeling of the brake pedal seems much more firm and so does my clutch pedal (but I had just finished driving a car with a really sloppy clutch pedal feel so that may have contributed). I unplugged the right thing right?

with a base model, if im not mistaken, does not come with an lsd, the models above such as entusiast come with a vlsd. So regardless if you do plug that you will still have to put in an aftermarket LSD like Kaaz to properly learn how to drift in dry weather. Hope that helps.
This isnt my first drift car (I dont mean to say that in a rude way, just an fyi). I'm just curious if this is the correct plug. Non of my other cars came with ABS so I've never had to worry about it. TCS and ABS and all that is just a pita imo.
