Default QUALITY and AFFORDABLE suspension setup for Drifting

I am looking for QUALITY and AFFORDABLE suspension setup (suspension, camber kit, sway bars) to put on the Z for drifting, my budget is around 2200-2500.

Just practiced drifting with the Z for two months after LSD was installed and I felt that the suspensions were wearing out recently. I think it is time to change the setup.

Please help guys, I already did some research, but I do need others' opinions and experiences for preference.

Sways: Hotchkis or Cusco
Camber: Cusco for the front, SPC for the rear
Coilovers: Tein Super Drift or KW

There is a lot of coilovers that you could use for drifting. It really comes down to your own personal preference and budget.

You may also want to ask on a drifting forum.

Quality and affordable.

We raced two forumla d cars on BC racing coilovers and JIC and Battleground parts. They all held up just fine.

Sways are all the same.

Are you sure all the Sways are the same, in that case should I just get the inexpensive one from Ebay instead? I am not trying to be funny, just curious when you said that....

When you were saying BC racing, were you referring to Buddy club racing or just BC racing? Because the prices from both brands have huge different.

BC racing, and i meant BattleVersion not battleground.

All sways are made of almost the same exact thing, they are all pretty much the same size and are solid instead of hollow like the factory ones.

Some might have small minor differences but they are all the same.

Cool, man, I will look into the BC racing and Stance.

By the way, which model did you get for the BC Racing?

For the Stance, I believe that is also a good one to go, look at Spring Rate is great for drifting, 12kg/5kg, so for the rear, so I can set the rear sway stiffer so i can get better weight transfer, and better acceleration while car is drifting for the soft rear spring rate.

Correct me, if i am wrong.

At the same time you might also want the Z to squat a bit so that you have enough traction to pull out of the drift.

Question, when you said squat, do you mean sit the car a bit lower?

What type of the BC Racing coilovers BR type is? True coilover all around, or True front and separated springs, shocks for the rear? Because I saw people installed the BR type was like the true front with separated springs shocks rear. But when I was looking at ebay those coilovers are full coilover all around.. For another reason, BR type has two versions of coilovers? Please help

What i meant by squat was actual physical car squat and not the pre-set car ride height.

I was a bit worried about getting the Stance AL's cause the Z is pretty heavy and if you happen to catch a curb or something, I'm afraid they would be too weak and bend.

I got the regular Stance GR+pro's (true coilover rear set at 9F 11R) and love them, along with hotchkish sway bars (2F 3R), nismo 1.5, and tein tie rods.

Stock supsension

Stance GR+pro

The Stance coilovers are very cheap for what they are, but are quality coilovers. They ran a suspension dyno test on a brand new set and a set that had been beaten and abused for 3 years by "Scott" at TF and the result was the beaten ones were virtually identical to the brand new ones.

I got mine from www.tougefactory.com since they are the owners of Stance and they are local to me. You may want to contact them instead cause at least with locals, they are really good about fixing you up with replacement parts if you happen to break them. Also, they rebuild them as well.

And no, I'm not a spokesman for them. I just really love their coilovers.

Thanks, I am getting the GR+ pro and SPC camber kit, but i don't which sway bar to get. I think I will just wait until I put everything on the car and run them, then to choose how stiff I want the sway bars.
