I have the kit, I ran the 25mm spacer up front with rays track wheels 18x8.5" and was able to max out the angle.

^^ see this is my dilemma, I wish they could work with wider wheels. I might just have to get custom ones made. We will see though

Over 9.5 inches is a bit too wide for drifting...........that much rubber up front and drifting, start watching the passenger side of the steering rack - as it will blow......leak...

stock compression arms are cheap and can be replaced when eaten into, plus now that spl came out with the compression rod bushing, there isnt a point unless your a pro drifter or super avid drifter....

wheel size "width" is more a factor and choosing a 9 inch wheel with a RE-11R tire or something nice and grippy up front makes a world of difference....

Same as Zorgazm, i'm running their kit and running 18x8.5 +26 with 25mm spacer. I'm running 245/40R18 tire & rubbing a little on the tension arm at full lock, will try 235/40 or 245/35 next summer I really love the kits.

Here a pics of me iniating at full lock )))

Jason,,

I am at 18x10-8 up front and dont rub my steering rack at full lock... I'm sorry there is a way to make it work with wider fronts,, I hate seeing all these Zs with sad sad fronts and rears.. but this is just me.. If i have to rework the front some how I will..

tr_racing,,

OMG that angle is soooo freakn sexy bro, please tell me you have vid of this in action..

Ya that wheel selection (-8) for drifting is just ur style...not optimal for drifting...

And contact happens at the compression arm...not the steering rack..hence the kpr kit altered compression arm design....

I agree completely, this is why i fell in love with drifting! 18x10 -8 with a lot of front camber and 0 rear will fit perfect with a nice stretch on both and be able to rotate wheels and tires wherever so it would be ideal. rubbing compression rods is the only question, especially with that much angle.....

Kevin..
I really love that vid
I've orded the KPR kit and are rebuilding this winter.
Did you have to rebuild the wheel well or fender to clear the wheel?

I have been running the KPR mod scene late June, it seems to hold up real well. there are a few design aspects that i think could use some refining but so far i had no issues with them. but it dose hold up well! even when i rolled my Z only one piece of the kit broke.

it was the front lower, and it broke where the ball joint attaches i talked to Chris (the guy who built the kit also he put in the roll cage that psooibly save me from the roof smashing my dead in!) from KPR and they sold me a new one for $150. KPR went belly up a few months ago so if they have more kits there will not be that many, and i dont know if at Chris's new shop if they are still making it, (I do not think they are) so if you brake a piece then you might be screwed!

Chris also said if i ever brake a part to call him and he might be able to get me in touch with the machine shop that made them and they can make a new one put it will be expensive!

The rod ends and the adj pieces are made by QA1 so you can just order the parts straight from them.

Also the when u get the kit you WILL need S14 inner tie-rods the sock ones are too short and i would highly recommend getting the tie-rods with spacers!! added tons more angle!

As far as wheel rub goes i can see using a wide enough wheel that you would rub with the KPR kit the lower rear has been tweaked for more clearance so unless you are using a super wide tire you wont have any problems.

if you guys have any questions hit me up!

Im good friends with Chris and use to work with him when I managed Intec Racing. He is also building my car for me. My concern with running this kit was if it broke if I could get another one because I knew KPR was going belly up. We are able to still get them in the future. The new shop car nutz which is where Chris is at is in the process of moving and planning on reproducing the kit as well. Just figured I would throw in my .02 about that to let everyone know!

Just got back from XDC Irwindale, I broke a passenger compression rod and my 9.5" wide wheels have been biting into the tie rod adjusters, so all 3 need to be replaced. My next move is to get ahold of Qa1 to get replacements.

Im with Edafe on this.. I drift my 18x10-20 up fronts. Im concerned about the extra angle with this kit though. I think with my stretch tires and some adjustment i can make it work we'll see

Just to let everyone know. Powered by Max had developed some sick angle arms for the Z. They are in the R&D faze now. And also they are going to be cheaper then these. So keep your ear to the street cause I am just waiting for them. Oh also they can adjust camber too so no need for camber arms.
