that's why i have a z. i can drive it to an event then drive it home. if i still had my s13 i'd need a daily, a tow vehicle, and a trailer... or drive the tow vehicle daily which would likely consume a lot of gas. a z is definitely the cheaper option.

Talking to someone local and they mentioned i can sway in a 5.3 litre engine for under 5k. This isnt the ls1 engine but should still be fun.

So if i keep the z, the winter mods will be

- Extended studs
- PBM super steering angle
- PBM Hydro ebrake
- PMB shift know
- custom welded 4 point cage. similiar to the kirk racing one but passenger seat friendly

Anything else i should consider?

I have an enthustasis and stock lsd will do for now and hoping my clutch last me for a little while. But if those go out i thinking Gilken LSD and clutch.

I would say keep the Z.

I got stuck with a Base model and just picked up a VLSD so i could start getting into drifting...I am way n00b'd out and totally feel you on getting scared haha...

I know a couple of times i probably DID kill some puppies spinning out and being a complete tard in the Z haha...$hit happens i guess lol...gota learn somehow!

On a serious note though, there is way more "easy" potention in a Z. 240s do NOT handle very well out of the box, and your going to have to be doing alot more than just a motor swap to get it up to par...

Then again thats just my .02, i say keep the Z and thank us later

if you can have a v8 swap for under 5 grand i say do it. V8's can be pretty reliable, lots of parts for them, and dont have to worry about turbo b/s (oil leaks, boost leaks, etc).

and not that a 240 drifts better than a z, but if you have a s chassis setup good i feel like they can really improve your driving, just saying.

what is "pmb shift know"? looks like a good list. you might want to get an lsd sooner. the stock vlsd is a bit unpredictable.

setting up an s-chassis is definitely a lot easier/cheaper as well, but trying to make reliable power is the hard part.

What all do you have done to your suspension? From a pic i seen it looks like you have aftermarket LCA.

me? rlca, coilovers, swaybars, front endlinks, solid diff bushings, and poly subframe bushings. dif and subframe bushings definitely tightened up the rear end a lot.
