people say they drift when u understeer because when u understeer ur rear isnt coming around and in order to bring it around u gotta drift it so u dont go off the track or hit sumthin....then people say u drift when ur car oversteers which is true but ur car drifts when u oversteers because that is natural for the car to do that when it has to much oversteer..soo basically it depends how u interpret it

IT'S NOT BAD FOR THE CAR, just the tires. We are not talking about pro level here. Sliding the rear around every once in a while is fine and less stressful on the car than "grip" racing or HARD cornering.

Understeer is loss of front grip, drifting is loss of rear grip.

drifting is way tooo harsh on your tires

unless you are in a racing team or a track person

i would not recommened doing it

or... just do try it at the parking lot at the mall for fun

its oversteer. Its impossible to "drift" and understeer. The terms explain themselves. When the back end works loose, the car is "over steering" . when the car doesnt steer very well, namely going into a curve the nose doesnt turn in because of momentum, the car is "under steering" A Drift is a semi controled oversteer. Do some research. If all else fails, ask Sport Compact Car. Editor is a friggin genius.

What RPM is maintain to keep the tires from gripping and keep the drift going w/o slidding out of control?
