Hey, Just curious, what makes Install kit so pricey? I have 60k so I imagine I'll need both. The extra 300 really hurts. Thanks.

the 3.9's coming in are about 2 weeks out

Unfortunately I don't know if it works with an auto or not, as the ring gears are different between manual and auto cars. I'll try to do some searching though and see what I come up with

sorry, I'm just not familiar with the automatics, and I don't want to give you potentially incorrect info. Perhaps one of the forum members with an automatic can assist.

Hey, how much for install kit #2 shipped to 20852? The shipping prices on the web seemed high. Thanks

you would have to ask your dealer if they stock them, I have no idea

They cost about $15 each IIRC, and there are 2 of them. Not everyone needs new shims though, it varies from car to car (there is no way to tell beforehand)

I have an automatic's pumpkin and would like to know if i could use that on my manuel? I want to avoid down time, so i want to have the pumpkin opened and have the 3.9 final drive put in along with all adjustment shims. then i want to swap it with my current 3.5 pumpkin. would i run into any problems doing this?

there are a bunch of threads that discuss it, but the short answer is no, it will not work with the lsd from an automatic, as they are different from the differentials in M/T cars. There is a whole sticky thread about the final drives that I posted the link to in the first post, as well as several recent threads in the drivetrain section which cover all of these questions/combinations as well that I'd suggest you read

Any specific reason why you guys don't do the install?

Can you recommend a good shop in the NY are that can do the install?

Thanks...
