I'd love to know. My insurance company doesn't know yet and I'm debating if I should tell them or not...

I wouldnt tell them because you will likely be refused. i was told by several companies that they do not accept performance modifications. But on the other hand, I was caught with mods I hadnt claimed before and they were going to take me to court for insurance fraud. Got myself out of that. I've also looked into speacialty companies which deal with custom/classic/show cars and they wont insure a vehicle that isnt more then 20 years old (i think its 20).

Default Insurance for modded cars

In Toronto Autosport's monthly club magazine, an Insurance company has a full-page advert saying that they provide insurance for both:
1. Antique/Special Interest cars
2. Modified/Custom cars

They're based in Stouffville, ON. Here are the contact details. Good luck and let the rest of us know how it goes!

Lant & Co. Insurance Brokers Ltd.
Tel: 905-640-4111 or 1-800-461-4099

Anytime you are insured with a specialty insurance company such as the one listed above, the car must then be used only as a weekend driver. If using it as a daily driver and any situation arises, generally companies will consider this a breach of contract and will not cover what happens.

Obviously however, I'm sure there is reasoning which will justify certain situations.

Thanks,
j.

I talked to them. They said my car has to be 15 years or older to have insurance with them.
