Canadian HIDs?

Canadian HIDs?
Maybe you guys can help us out... check out: https://my350z.com/forum/west-canada/178615-attn-canadian-zs-with-hids.html
This is the problem:
I live in Toronto. My car was imported from the states. In the states they dont have DRL's. In Canada, its law to have DRL's (low beams) on at all times.
Now, I also have a base Z, and since the car is from the U.S and its a base, it didnt come with HID.
Jun (member on the board) provides HID's for base cars... however, my car is unique because its had DRL installed on it and now I want to install the HIDs. however, from my understanding, its the same bulb... and therefor my HID's would be on all the time.
Any ideas?

Someone obviously installed some aftermarket DRL kit. Unless you want your HIDs on all the time you will have to find that unit and remove it.
Keep in mind you will still need to have DRLs installed (although I'm not sure cops really check for this). You would then have to go down the OEM route whith the DRL controller. I remember seeing this in the shop manual.
If I were you, I would just leave everything as is and let the HIDs come on when you drive. The cost of doing everything else is at least as expensive as another set of HID bulbs.
