Default Mileage

Since installing my Crawford high flow cats earlier this spring, my Zed has been recording improved mileage.

It used to be a chore to get under 10l/100km (a little over 600km per tank), but it's pretty much common place now. That works out to about 23 MPG average.

I drove to Barrie over the weekend (via Calabogie, Bancroft, Haliburton, Bracebridge - SWEET drive!) and I averaged about 25 MPG WITH a bike rack on the hatch and, ahem, above average speeds in fairly hilly terrain. I was pretty damn impressed.

What kind of mileage are you guys seeing?

Anytime you go long distances and get to use the cruise control, your gas milage will definately be improved. I haven't checked lately, but before I got my HFC, I was getting 13l - 14l/100km. I should really check again.

That's what surprised me is that I wasn't on the 401 with the cruise set at steady 130 for hours or anything.

In the trip to Barrie (and back for that matter), it was way too hilly/twisty to use cruise control. I was constantly moving the throttle, hitting the brakes, and turning the wheel. Lots of fun, and apparently, fairly efficient way to drive the Zed. :-)
