Default Best LSD For Street Use?

I am currently building a 4.2L stroker motor with a greddy twin turbo set up. My goal is to start around the low to mid 700's RWHP.

I am having trouble choosing a LSD. I want a streetable setup that will give me better traction on start up (out of the hole) and prevent as much wheel spin during hard acceleration and gear switches.

Id appreciate your opinions, I am currently looking at two models, the Carbonetics/ATS Carbon diff, and the Quaife.

And another question is , Do I really need this, or can I get away with the stock vLSD. (my car is 35th anniversary model)

700 RWHP....damn. You'll have to run slicks to get traction!

I know I will have a hard time nevertheless, but I still want to find a way to get the best traction I can get. If you guys have any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

I doubt the stock unit will offer you the grip you're looking for with that kind of power. I don't know anything about the Carbonetics but the Quaiffe seems to get top marks for offering good grip but still streetable.

Ive heard nothing but good things about the ATS carbon LSD. OEM feel and great traction with it.

the only reason why a after market rear end should be considerdin your case is if the stock LSD diff wont handle the power. a diff has nothing to do with hooking up the power( as long as were talking LSD), that will depend on tires, suspension and the angle of your suspension links and arms weight distribution etc etc. you could lower your ratio witch would give your car longer legs, and you punching out 700 fat ones you wouldnt even notice it out of a dig..

Default My Cusco RS LSD is for sale.

Cusco RS LSD.

Preloaded clutch diff with little noise (I actually can't hear ANY noise - and I find my lightweight flywheel noisy), and excellent smooth torque delivery. FAR better than the Nismo and Kazz units.

Used 9 months and only had Redline synthetic in it. Currently configured as 1.5 way with 60% lockup (can be changed to 1 or 2 way and 60/80/100 lockup).

$650 shipped and located in Ottawa
