Default With the current exchange rates..

I'm planning on getting some new wheels. Just wanted to know if any of you have had past experiences with some of the wheel vendors/sponsors from this forum that are from the states. Any +/- experiences you want to share?

1st post in 5 yrs WOW canadas number 1 lurker lol

sorry I couldn’t contribute to your question, but like you said with today’s exchange rate its common sense to go looking in the states, however I’m not so sure when buying rims, I guess you would have to research how much more do the rims in Canada actually cost over the price in the US.

On something that cheap it might not be worth your while. there are many vendors in Canada that can get any rim available.

Haha, I didn't even realized I registered since '02. I actually did some calling here and there in Toronto and the overall prices were 30-35% more than the US (not including taxes). So I will not be shopping locally that's for sure.

^^ it's going to take a while before local shops parity their prices to the US. it's not like what happened with porsche canada and the massive backlash they faced from their rich prospects who complained about price discrepancies.

huh? porsche didn't adjust their prices anywhere near what's necessary to prevent shoppers from importing. a new c2s is 82k usd and 104k cdn (both with base options).

in fact, since the intro of the 997 porsche actually raised prices as the dollar fell. here are c2s msrp's recently:

2005 115k
2006 119k
2007 114k
2008 105k

^^ i believe they reduced prices by 10% on their new models, which equated to around 5-10k savings (depending on which model of course). mind you, it wasn't perfectly matched with the US counterparts, but porsche was the first to respond (and respond quickly might i add) out of all the retailers to the parity in the cdn. dollar.

either way i'm also waiting for cdn. retailers to match or come close to US prices, but i have this eerie feeling it's going to take a while before anything happens.

There are some great deals on ebay for wheels also in the marketplace section here
