Default Anyone Know any Decent Place to Stay in Detroit?

Driving down there next week for a Canucks game, and it's a bit too slutty of a drive to do twice in a day (especially after a couple $18 **** weak American beers). I've never been down there and would prefer not to get shot or have the Z knicked.

Thanks for any info guys!

Dave

i suggest just using a rental. if detroit is anything like new york city, your z is going to get ruined by retarded locals who ding, crash and knick while parking their cars.

a close friend of mine used to visit his gf in NYU and his integra received battle damage every single time. apparently it's acceptable to nudge other people's cars when trying to parallel park.

+1 on rental

When I was visiting some friends in New York, they made me park my car at their place and drive their personal S500 instead just because my plates was out of state, apparently if you're not a local, the locals will do something to your car.

+1 on that... ontario plates will get pwned big time in the states.
I m glad i was driving a corolla rental last time.
I think you should do the same, dont risk your Z..not worth it besides the rentals are pretty comfy believe it or not

So what you're all saying is to take the girlfriend's car? Right?

So I'm guessing no one has stayed there?

right? Ok...I admit...I was in Detroit two times and that was quite awhile ago.

Time #1: Actually had a few off hours during a hockey tourney...went to catch a movie and a guy got stabbed in the theater. Umm...odd.

Time #2: Needed to grab a quick meal while on the road. Went into a Taco Bell (don't know why and I have not been back since). Put my money into the drawer to slide it past the bullet proof glass to pay for my meal. On the news that nite, the same place was robbed at gunpoint. Apparently the "bulletproof" glass was not so much so...

Many options:

1) Another family/friend low profile car.
2) Rent a car.
3) Greyhound.
4) Another creative solution b/c it's 11:37pm/I'm checking out.

G/L...honestly.

^^ that's crazy

and why would you rob a taco bell in the first place? how much could that place possibly make? i'm no thief, but if i was going to risk my life and rob a place at gunpoint, i'd choose something more worthwhile ... like robbing the gold in wayne's money pit

Ive been to detroit, DO NOT TAKE YOUR Z!

As mentioned above, ontario plates will get pwnd. Your best bet is to rent a vehicle.

Hope you have a safe trip!
