Also almost have the splitter mounted. Looks bad *** on the car, so race car. Im short a few bolts so will have to wait until Monday it looks like.

here is my small update on the splitter

 

so... Im almost done .
What needs to be completed is the paint and the rubber lip . I have about 8-9 hours on that first project of this kind !

on the last picture the splitter is 3 3/4 '' to 4'' high (the ground is not even)

 

Nice! You are ahead of me. Mine is mounted in the rear of it to the frame, and the bar is right under the rad support. Then I have ordered 2 spoiler rods like yours that will tie to the crash bar. One thing I don't have is the side supports like yours, but Im going to wait and see how it holds up and add them if its not strong enough on the sides.

Mine is about 4in clearance as well, at stock ride height. Streetable, until its lower... You should make an air dam of some sort to plug the gap between your bumper.



Headlight replacement came out well. Either not enough mold release or some coating on the headlight, but the mold wouldn't let go of the headlight lol. Had to pry it off inch by inch, had me a little worried!. But no damage to the headlight in the end.

 

you should offer some of your carbon creations for resale to help offset the costs of your track car!

 

the spoiler rod that you call , I bought them at princessauto they are priced at about 5-6$ each
as for the side support , I used what I had, 90deg steel bar
same with the bracket on the splitter and bumper beam

tool used were
-drill
-dremel
-jigsaw
-common tools (rachet /wrench....)

I kept every bolts of my previous 2pc rotor BBK when I bought 2x new ring
they were quite usefull for this project !

 

And what is the splitter itself made of again?

 

I first tried to find some alumalite sheet , but it ended up to be Alumacorr from www.proveer.com

I ordered 2 sheets of 4'x8' (1x 10mm & 1x 6mm)
the shipping cost was 11$ or something like that !!!!!
the price was lower than what I could find around here, where I live.

 

So is it two layers thick or do you have an extra sheet as a spare?

 

I used the 10mm for the splitter and the 6mm was for the diffuser once im ready to make it later this summer because I need a new exhaust setup to have more clearence and also I will need a new rear bumper skin !

but im gonna order 2 other 6mm for the full flat underbody.

 

I've thought of selling some things but I don't love making them for the sake of making them. I love making them for me . And honestly I just don't have the time for my own car as it is lol. I've had judds skirts for like 2 months (although one is nearly done!)

The lights are coming out really well though, if the brackets work good too then I'd make more sure.

 

I'm just doing my "quick recce" for next next years build.

 

$5-6 each for those rods eh? Awesome, since I paid like 50 for mine lol. Going to check out princess tomorrow there is a huge one in KW.

those that I bought from princess auto arent very pretty like the APR rods ! I would have bought them if I had the $$ and the time to wait for them by the mail !

just look by the name (((Rigging Screw))) on princess auto website.

 

Catch pins installed in the bumper, just need to paint the airdam.


And headlight. Booya.

 

Don't forget about my interior parts

 

Small interior pieces are no problem. That one headlight took about an hour of sanding, and probably could have used another hour to make it perfect. I used a proper clear coat on it this time instead of lacquer and it turned out nicer I think. Plus should stand up to UV better.

 

Splitter and bumper on. Lovvvvve aerocatch pins, bumper literally just slides on and off. Still need to adjust it as its not flush on, but it was too bloody cold out.

Splitter still needs front rods, picked some up at HD for like $4. Then need to mold the other headlight, cut some brackets, and move on with life.
