Default Changing Pillars? Mph/Kms HELP!!

I just bought a 2007 touring model 350z imported from the states, and I was wondering if anyone has changed the top 3 pillars that show oil, voltage, etc. My reason for changing the pillars is that the first pillar has everything in milage, and I wanted it to be measured in Kms... Is this possible??? I've been to Brampton north Nissan and was quoted $250 for the part, but the installer wasn't sure if it is going to work and the part is non-refundable once bought. Please Help....Thanks

I read you also need to reprogram the ECU so that the calculated displays are accurate.

BTW... most people refere to these gauges as "Triple-Gauge" or "Multi-Function" displays.
