Default Ipod adapter - GTA

Has anyone bought an ipod adapter in the GTA that they would recommend? I have an 03 with BOSE no navi. I have seen a bunch online, but would rather pick one up locally and install it myself. Not the FM tuner, but the one that integrates with the headunit.

I did a search, but found nothing in this section.

Thanks in advance!

pics added.

I guess everybody orders online and gets them shipped from the US? Or did everyone rip out the Bose headunit, lol.

A lot of people rip out the bose unit. It's pretty terrible, you'll notice way better sound with just a change in that alone.

ya, I was into that back in the day, but i prefer the stock look now. I actually don't mind the sound of mine. The bass is decent (never cracks) and the mids / highs are average. I pulled up the service history and the guy before me had it replaced, maybe that helped..

You have to get it online. Oh, and look forward to getting plowed in the rear by Canada, the item came out to $110 bucks, and then they plowed me for another $60 worth of customs.

I got mine here. Its quite expensive tho, but its in Canada and free shipping.

http://www.crutchfield.ca/USA_Spec_i...581pa11nis.htm

Crutchfield says its not compatible with 2003 but reviews and I have confirmed that it works.

^Yea, that's definitely better, I thought I was saving money b/c mine came out to $110, but that's because I wasn't expecting the duties/brokerage rape.

Does the above work with the Nav unit as well? I've heard mixed things (I have the Bose unit 06).

bought the USA Spec off crutchfield.ca.. I used the free shipping, and it was at my condo in less than 24 hours! I installed it, and powered up my Garmin 360 through the radio power line (to free up the power outlet). I will post pics shortly.

My only rant is that the USA Spec says it won't power my 4th gen nano. Not sure if this is true or not, because the lightning bolt still shows up over the battery. If it doesn't charge, I will have to purchase a newer cable, which is currently out of stock on their site.

All the new USA Spec devices should come with the new gen charging cable (http://usaspec.com/product.php?Produ...eShowProduct=1). It looks like crutchfield is carrying old stock. Try calling them and complain, maybe they'll give you the new version.

ipod USA spec / Garmin 360 mount

no drilling required for the ipod adapter cable. The storage compartment (on the 03's at least), have two holes at the rear and 2 screws that you can take out and slide the cable in. The pics don't show it, but you should be able to find them if you pop out the center console / arm rest area.

ah ok. Not sure if I have the right cable or not now, lol. It says charging is not supported, yet so far it appears to increase the battery power everytime i use it in the car. I will have to keeping monitoring.

update: the USA spec ordered from Crutchfield.ca does indeed charge my iPod (even though it says otherwise on the screen).
