2. Buy a set of Tein Flex coilovers
3. Buy a set of 19s
4. Get a nice skirt package
5. Get an intake, exhaust, plenum spacer and an osiris tune by APH...

This will net out about 8-10k (or more if you really find good deals on spacer, rims and suspension) cheaper than the 370z...

You'll get an exceptional car, made further exceptional with the right choice in RIMs, suspension and engine modifications. And the best part? It will look WAAAAY better than the 370z....

My $0.02
I'll sell my 04.5 for the right price it's got everything listed except for the Tein Flex and tune by APH

well, it has 73k km on it, but she's running like a beaut

You sound like you are doing a good amount of research and critical thinking about this purchase and I understand your reasons for wanting to avoid the cars with potential probs (03-04 and 06) this was my exact approach, but i did not count out the USDM cars.

I purchased a USDM 2005 enthusiast and am very happy with the car. One thing you mentioned is you are avoiding US cars, in my opinion this could cut out a large numbers of cars that would be perfect other than the MPH on the dash is in bigger font than the KPH. There are no other differences beyond, DRL's and trim packages available and since the weather in the US could be classified as less extreme than up here you may even get a car with less wear and tear depending on where it is from.

I have personally had warranty work at my local dealer and they treated me just as if I purchased there new, and the US cars are generally going to be less $$.

good luck on your search.

Hey,

If the warranty is in fact valid over here... I would then seriously consider driving down to Buffalo or Detroit to pick one up...

Any thoughts?

for $29,999 ... and I'm sure I could knock off some more... and I think after the conversion rate and whatnot, I could get it for $40,000K CAD.

I"ll look into it abit more...

But thanks for the advice on the US imports... I'll consider those going forward

Dude buy a Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Nearly as good as the 370z and 10k cheaper...

Im young and doing well for my age, but I don't buy new cars, such a huge waste of money. I have an 03 350z and 04 S4. Love both cars. Had Porsche and a few bikes before as well... Def going back to a Porsche after the 350Z

Although the Genesis Coupe is a pretty sexy car and performs well, I wouldn't take a chance on a first generation car from a manufacturer that hasn't built a sports car of that caliber before. The 370Z follows a long line of great sports cars from Nissan and they still neglected to fix the oil over-heating problem. Imagine what possible problems are lurking in the Genesis. But still a hot car. Will destroy my 04 Z so badly ha

Dude, it's a Korean knockoff POS

It's like inviting all of your friends over to watch a movie at your house on your Panasoanic TV and JVL Home theater system - it may be a satisfying movie watching experience, but in the end when everyone leaves they'll be saying "wow for knockoff stuff, it was really good"

lol F that ****

Im talking straight line performance. I think the Genesis will beat a stock 04 Z. But I'll take my car over the Genesis any day of the week!

the six cylinder Genesis is DEFINITELY not faster than a Z in a straight line. At best, its just as quick. I think Hyundai claim 6 seconds flat 0-60, and a 04 should get to that mark in 5.8

there was a few restrictions to the US-Canada warranty transfers, but like I said mine was obviously a US car (cloth interior and 17" wheels never came on CDN Z's) and the dealer gave 100% top notch service. It was just in for the technical service bulletin for the rear axle clicking.

I think one of the main stipulations to the cross border warranty was the car had to be registered from new in the US for at least 6 months, this was put in place to avoid people from blatantly border hopping but still leaving a warranty available for customers who may have moved or did not solely intend on buying just to export to Canada. Mine was used and registered in the US for 2 yrs so this did not affect my warranty, but if you wanted to get a new one you may run into this issue.

Opps I guess I was mistaken. Oh well. I wouldn't get one anyways.

It's basically a knockoff of our cousin, the G37

If you can't see that, then ... yeah

Ah well, as long as they're ripping off the ugly cousin and not the true legend. In 20 years time the 350z will be thought of as a classic, like the original 240. The G37, not so much.
