Trade: Mazda RX-8 GT for G35 (Toronto)
Ridiculous trade offer, but I must say Bop isn't just talking out of his ***. In his defense, there have been many comparisons between the Z and rx8 that ended in the 8 outperforming the Z. There have also been many comparison that ended with opposite results, so really it's 50/50.
Not only does it keep up with the Mustang in a straight line, but it also beats the three other cars around the track, thanks to the best power-to-weight ratio and tenacious grip.
Ummmmm my RX-8 has 238 HP. Every single magazine test pur the 8 ahead of the 350Z. The Z is a clunky handler, rides like a coal cart and has the cheapest looking interior with one of the worst gearboxes on Earth. It's pure ****. I've owned both cars. It's for kids who don't realize what good handling is.
Get the RX8 dynod. You'll be disappointed.
I like my coal cart.

edit: sorry, I didn't realize you didn't mean the whp.

^ That 238 rwhp is the norm with a Greddy turbo kit.
The RX8 CAN outhandle the Z. But, it's power is weak as hell unless heavily boosted or the engine is swapped out with a bi-rotor or more engine.
I'm curious as to why the OP has his username as "Hibbing."
Do you live around there?

Seriously, I find it waaay cheaper to stiffen the Z suspension than it is to add horsepower to the RX8. No car manufacturer can design a vehicle that makes everyone happy.
Like I was trying to get across, I like both my cars for different reasons.
Here is my Z (when it was still stock) and the wife's RX. See, cats and dogs can live together.
Nice, shall we list everything Mazda couldn't get right in the first place? My engine bay is filled with little blue service campaign stickers.

no wonder you keep the z in garage during winter and take the beater out =)... strong words..
driven both and I actually like to get a feel for the car when turning/smashing/stopping
feedback is what make driving the car actually driving it.
Sorry but there is a reason the guy wants to trade and the other guy has both but lets his wife drive it.
My friend still has an rx-8 and honestly doesn't care for it much at all which is the reaction I get from most people..... basically that car lacks excitement which is why it doesnt sell for chit.
Ohh and whopdee freakin do it won races. I guess your right the 350 doesnt set track records, or win races, or replace factory cars for JGTC350 and JGTC500 classes or anything. yeah its a POS. Pull strings from a carpet and you still got a carpet
350's arent the greatest car ever built or available this day, but there is a reason it has attracted so many buyers. from the refinement, to affordability, power, styling, history, nostalgia, to the Joy of lookin at it every morning. It has the right mix of everything
Neways ur trying to convince the majority of people in general that the RX-8 is better (in the wrong place, but we can talk about that another time) Hey they got they're own pluses and are a good car in they're own respect, but when a car succeeding the RX-7 comes out and leagues worse it's gonna catch a lot of chit. It's like that one movie with Arnold and Danny Devito with the science experiment...
rx-7=Arnold
Danny DeVito=RX-8
That pretty much sums it up...\ or / what ever the *** that thingy is

this is stupid. the better sports car is the Z. The best car magazines, which aren't NORTH AMERICAN by the way, say the Z is a better sports car. EVO gives it 5 stars, it was Top Gear's car of the year (although Top Gear aren't a good magazine as EVO) and Performance Car also rates it higher. As a sports car. As an everyday proposition, the RX 8 is better. It has a better interior, a better ride/handling compromise, and more space. Lookswise, both have aged well, the RX 8 looks fresh still, whilst the Z has classic proportions. However, to me it is more important to have a sports car, so I went with the car that's ugly on the inside, rides hard, and doesn't have any rear seats. But it has a WAY better engine for fast driving and ultimately has a better chassis for on the limit driving.

Thanks for pointing that out!
to OP: you're obviously in the wrong forum, and calling a middle aged man (reality350z) a 20 yr old has already proven that you are an ******* for making assumptions just like you would assume rx8 is better.
There's a reason 350z has more sales than rx8. Mind you, I love rotaries and the potential power it can make especially for the FC and FD. But you are crossing the line with the POS that mazda calls "rx8", which is suppose to be a SUCCESSOR of the famed rotary cars. It's epic fail.
I thought support for that pile eroded when everyone realized how much of a performance platform JOKE the RX-8 is.
Like it has been stated, it's much easier to throw a better suspension and tires on the 350Z to make it handle better than an RX-8 than it is to add power to an RX-8 to eclipse the power of the Z.
If you care about handling over all else, why not pick up a lotus elise and call it a day. That car makes the RX-8 look like a tank.
Wait doesnt the RX8 get like 15 mpg?
Rx8 is an great car. I bough a brand new RX8 GT with all of the options except nav, I really enjoy that car.
After owning it for 2 months, I got sick of it. The chassis is faster than the engine. Sure, many magazine rev about it's handling...but how many hard corners do we take driving to school, work, etc? For a street car, it's embarrassing getting beat at the light by Camry and Accord. On the street, torque and power rules, handling come second.
Sure, you can say that Nissan engineer couldn't get the handling right on the Z. How about I turn that criticism around and say that Mazda engineer couldn't get the engine right on the RX8? Keep in mind that upgrading suspension is cheaper than upgrading the engine.
OP, you could defend the RX8 all you want, Z will end up as a superior street car. You boast so much about how great RX8 handle, compare it to a Lotus and see how it turns out. So, in both case RX8 failed.
Out of all the cars that I own, RX8 is the most disappointing one.

OP is heading for epic FAIL status.. I say we keep this thread going.
First he comes in here with a trade offer..
He gets hit with reality (his car is POS and should have been left on the design table) and can't handle it.. So the little man syndrome kicks in and he has to defend himself by creating another screen name..(which nuki06fire has already confirmed..)
Only to keep inserting foot-into-mouth...
If he does come back, I am sure it will be for a few good laughs (at his expense of course)..
