^ he's right.
As for info check the for sale forum section on here see who's selling you'll probably find good deals on here and at least you can follow the history of the car if the guy has been a forum member for a bit. Also check autotrader.com that's how I found mine.
There are probably a few threads from way back in the east Canada section of people asking what to do to import a Z it's really a simple process just u need at least 5 days of
your time to do it. Um I'd maybe stay away from looking at dealerships cause they will try to charge you tax. I don't know exactly how this works u need to read it but because it's being exported ur not supposed to
pay tax I believe? You pay that at the border. Another thing u can do is get the person to write up the invoice for a bit cheaper save on some
tax haha. Just don't go to cheap like I did or u get ****ed at the border for 4 hours :s

I sent you a PM yesterday of a company out of Oakville that imports the cars from the States. From the day I paid for the car, it took just under two weeks to have the car in my driveway, fully licenced.

Any info on where to look, or who to talk to about that would be great.

-The biggest draw back is that you cannot trust the info coming from the states.. Carfax is not 100% reliable.. you could have a salvaged car, but because it did not go through insurance, there is no trace..
-Next biggest issue is warranty.. The US vehicle must have been purchased and licensed in the states (at least 6 months, iirc) before Nissan Canada will even consider talking to you about vehicle warranty.

Trust me, back in '06 I was one of the first to bring in a Z from the US.. I had to find this info myself.. and I was very concerned about the warranty.. (I had a oil burning 35th anny) But I made sure that what i was told about my z, was correct.... Not only did I check carfax, but I had the mechanics at the nissan dealership in Virginia give me the all clear before I signed off..

Regarding the 370z comment, the z34 is the same price (in US $) as it is here in canada.. The price discrepancies of the old z33 are no longer...

GL -Lw... If you don't mind a little leg work.. you could save yourself some serious $ by shopping down south..

PS* NNA - Nissan North America, has nothing to do with Nissan Canada.. just in case anyone was wondering.. they are 2 totally different entities.
PSS* before you buy from the US, you can ask for the VIN# and call it into Nissan Canada.. They can confirm whether or not the warranty is accepted in Canada.

i wouldnt trust a single one of these companies that bring cars from the states. yah it saves you the time but you dont know what your getting really. obviously they are gonna find the cheapest ones they can to make money on you and i know the majority if not all the ones they bring have been hit in some way.

i suggest looking on the forums buy off of a member this way you know the car and you can see its activity and other members can vouch.

just do it your self. that what i did also. 05 Z two years ago this march full nismo kit exhaust etc done by dealers ship only 2,500 miles paid 27k canadian licenced and in my driveway... (p.s kit and exhaust was done by dealer before car was sold new, i bought from origonal owner...

second. If an accident is made and not claimed through insurance then it wont be dedected by carfax or carproof reguardless on what country its in.

when looking into the states just remember to take the sale amount, plus gst/pst and i believe 6.1% duties, then convert to canadian dollars (it will still be cheaper then buying one here.)

and last. check ebay. doesnt mean you have to bid for it and buy a car you have never seen. thats where i saw mine and emailed him.and went down and looked before i bought. got lucky it was only like 5 hours to toledo ohio...

PS stay away from cars that are sold anywhere near floods etc!!! check where it was origonally sold. just because its in ohio now, doesnt mean it always was (carfax I believe will tell you that.)

On a normal occasion, I could not agree with you more, I am also very sketchy of companies doing that kind of stuff for me, especially when there is tens of thousands involved, however, the company is owned by a VERY good friend of mine. In fact, I personally purchased the car that I wanted, he just sent them the money using his business and did the RIV work for me. I saw the COST on the car and that is what I paid for. Also, since the car came from Pennsylvania, I physically went there with a Nissan mechanic I know very well from Toronto and they allowed us to hoist the car and examine EVERYTHING, and I was able to drive it home from there. We came through the border at Queenston/Lewiston (where my friends business sent all the appropriate paperwork to for importing), payed the taxes and was on my way.(Using dealer plates). If it wasn't for knowing people that I trust to help me with the purchase, I wouldn't trust a company.

Also after seeing how easy it is to import the vehicle, I would recommend anyone to import it themselves. It IS very easy, just have to follow the steps of the RIV (Registrar of Imported Vehicles) and you should be fine. On the day that I went, I honestly saw about 10-15 cars being imported by people at the same time. It was insane!

If you have any questions, let me know. I personally would be happy to help you out!
