Default Sigma Racing Time Attack Series @ Mosport DDT

I stole this from an RX8 forum and wanted to see if anyone is interested in beating some RX8's up with me (I kid), but really it would be fun to have another Z to battle it out with:

It is basically a full day of lapping with a lap-timer! Then an official time-attack from 3-5pm. $165 to pre-register by May 22nd for boat loads of fun.

Hello Car Enthusiasts,

Sigma Racing Time Attack Series (SRTA Series) (www.sigmatimeattack.com) was formed by a group of racing enthusiasts who wanted more from the usual lapping days without the immense cost and commitment of pursuing racing in existing racing sanction bodies. SRTA welcomes all drivers from licensed professionals to beginners to come to our events and tune their cars, improve their driving, compete in our time attack and have fun in a safe environment.

Our events feature:
- Your own personal lap-timer for the first 6 hours of test and tune from 9:00am to 3:00pm to tune and test your vehicles’ set-up.
- Running leader board throughout the day to objectively measure your performance against other participants.
- Official Time Attack at the end of the day from 3:00pm to 5:00pm where participants can put their skills to the test and place on our leaderboard.
- Maximum of 45 cars to ensure driving without traffic and line ups.
- Prizes for the fastest racers, and other perks and bonuses for all participants at the event.
- 50% Refund Rain Day Guarantee Program for all prepaid participants. (see our site for details)
- Pre-registered price of only $165 CAD (tax included) for an entire day of competitive racing and fun!

SRTA has 4 events for the year 2010:

Sunday, May 30
Sunday, June 27
Sunday July 25
Sunday, August 22

For more information, please check out: www.sigmatimeattack.com
If you have any questions regarding the SRTA series events, we will be more than happy to answer them within the thread.

Thank you very much for your time everyone!

SRTA

The running leader board thing sounds kind of cool (assuming its easily accessible). I might head up later in the year for fun.

Sounds like they will have a display of some sort, if not then just a computer to check. You should definitely make it out, all the guys that go coral in parking lots at the mall have no idea what they're missing!

I've lapped the DDT lots, it's is boat loads of fun and relatively safe if you know what you're doing. You don't hit any crazy top speeds but the track layouts keep you very busy steering/braking and trying to manage the throttle in between transitions.

So the time attack was a blast to say the least, great times. It sure beat a typical lapping day by having the lap timer in the car reading out your lap times as you cross the start/finish... it was almost like playing Gran Turismo haha.

Anyways, the day went pretty smooth... I had an off-track adventure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmX82WvpZec a few laps after setting the fasest time of the day which stuck until the end of the day when I got knocked out of first. Then the time attack started, everyone was driving their heart out going for their best time, I think almost everyone improved their best time of the day including myself. There is a long story, the 350Z is classe in B but they put me in A and my competition was the Porsche 996 with a heck of a wheelman driving it. He was turning clean lap after clean lap and kept shaving time all afternoon. Then all of a sudden the Lotus Super 7 was in my class (which is a tubular chassis, open wheeled race car) so I didn't stand a chance against it lol.

Anyways, I just if anyone is interested in tracking... sign up for the June 27th event. I would love to have another Z to run against/with. GT-Rob I'm looking in your direction lol. There was lots of quick cars/drivers out there... for example those Mazda 3's at the top of the B class, they were turning clean/quick laps.

Parker, glad to see the off-track adventure was relatively mild. I went off DDT two years ago backwards and was fortunate to not incur any damage at all. I hope to be back out there later this year maybe at a Touge event, though that time attack looks interesting. The track is only 20 minutes from my house but i'm still sorting out my suspension and supercharger so I was only out once last year.

Your times look really competitve, way to rep the Zed!!
