Why do light flywheels chatter?

Why do light flywheels chatter?

And is there anyway to fix the noise or is it something you have to live with?

It is not due to the weight mostly but the stock one is two piece dampened with springs so it doesn't transfer the gear chatter like the one piece lightweight ones.
