Default Poll: Altered Atmosphere or TechnoSquare ECU Reflash

Which is better the Altered Atmophere or TechnoSquare ECU Reflash? I heard that they use the same software, and the only difference is that TechnoSquare is $100.
Altered Atmosphere: $499
TechnoSquare: $599
Is TechnoSquare really worth $100 more?

The single most important factor is what/how/did AA develop the software to change the OEM map's. We know that Technosquare has developed the programs and maps based on many many applications for the Z. It would be interesting for AA to explain how they developed and verified the reflash. I'm not referring to the rev limiter or speed limiter or TB. I'm referring to reprogramming for a specific mod or a group of mod's..i.e crawford package.

same way as anyone did it...trial and error

The single most important thing, IMHO, is having the flash actually done on your car, as opposed to mail order, if you are substantially modded. For the basic bolt ons, a mailorder flash is fine

they use the SAME HARDWARE. that's about where the similarities stop.

its up to each tuner to develop their own program for your specific mods. i'd do with the company that has the most experience with the reflash.

i am biased toward TS, but thats because i know how they work and their reputation....

you should go with the people that you trust will get it done right.

I just had my 04 reflash by Ts and the map did not stay in for some reason. There are a few others on the other 350z forum that have the same issues with the 04 Full Reflash. I started a thread here a few days ago trying to get more feedback with others who have had their's done but someone deleted the thread for some reason. I have a question for previous TS customers? Does your car feel as good as it did after the reflash? The reason I ask is I had mine done a few weeks ago and now it feels like a pig. Now keep in mind I have alot of mods and the car felt great the day after I reinstalled the reflashed ecu but now my bumper is once again covered in Black deposits and it runs nowhere near as good...

I'm gonna second Z1 Performance's opinion of having it done on your car..

Coming from the VW/Audi world, I no longer believe in Mail Order chips and flashes. I'd say a flash should be done in house after you're done with your basic bolt-ons. If you end up modding even more after the flash, I'm sure they won't charge you the initial price AGAIN ($499-$599) for an update to your existing flash.

no we dont charger an additional 499-599$ for another reflash if you are a returning customer....we keep records of our customers who have gotten the reflash from us. and we offer i beleive 100-150$ charge for any another other modification to the ecu u want us to do. We try our best to satisfy our customers.

Thanks,
Ben Y

There you go people, you heard it first hand. I'm going to vote for an in-house flash after you're done with most of your bolt-ons. For simpler bolt-ons like exhaust and intake, you obviously don't necessarily need a flash in my opinion. But let's say you have headers, plenum, exhaust, intake.. then I'd say it's time for a flash to take full advantage of your mods. Then when you want to add cams or whatever else, you can get a reflash with an update for $100-150. That'd be my plan anyway.

by "in-house" you guys are suggesting that you physically drive you car to either AAM or TS...and have them do it there?
