Your supposed to use all the grease they give you. Also all the screws have to be tightend according to the instructions.
Mine does rattle at high rpms but not under normal use. I dont care if it rattles. I am the only one in the car. I fixed this car up to be quick and beat other cars.
My shifter rattle sounds better than half the songs on the radio. Yes I agree I would like it even more if it didnt make noise. Like I said before, anything is better than stock.
I hope putting in rubber washers works. I will have to see if my plastic washers have broke yet.
Try letting your car warm up for 5 or 10 minutes when you first start it. You wont have trouble getting it into 1st. Also dont take the rpms over 2000-3000 when you shift for the first 5 minutes of driving.
It will go into every gear nice and smooth when cold. Warming it up in the driveway, if you have one; really helps.

Also, those two plates you are talking about-- are you talking about the guide plate and the blue one that comes w/ the B&M??
I was thinking that some sort of gasket or something rubber between the two would help with the rattle. Is that basically what you are saying in the above post?

Yeah, when I was installing my short shifter I noticed at the end that there was an extra oring. I read through the installating instructions 1000 times over but I couldnt find anything telling me where that oring goes. Can someone help me out?
