Default Transmission Gurus question please!

Ok , here is my question. On an automatic transmission there is a flywheel which bolts directly to the torque convertor. This is considered rotational mass. Would changing the flywheel to a lighter unit have similar effects as swaping out the stock flywheel for a lightened flywheel in a manual transmission. If so is there a special bolt pattern that would be needed to mate with the torque convertor?

Thanks in Advance,

Greg

It usually is called a flexplate. Unless Nismo makes a lighter flexplate dont touch it. Automatics are made to a certain spec. If you want to take off rotating mass take it to someone who builds transmissions..
