Default so..i got a Z...

how ya all doing tonight? =)

So i got an 03 Z about a month ago... im new to the imports, and Im just wondering what mods should I get, that will not void the warranty I still have on the car?

Im pretty new to the racing/modding too, and Im so confused with all these different brand CAIs, exhausts, pulleys...and whatever else that can be done to this car to improve performance.

I really want to get into it, but i just dont know where to start =(

Help me out...

Thanks! =) and Happy New Year to everybody =)

Ok I will give you my opinion.
CAI= No real gains. we are CAI from the factory.
Exhausts: 5-7 WHP TQ if you are lucky
Pulleys= Good mod IMO

I would save your money for FI if you care alot about performance.

So what makes you think this thread will be any different?

Being new, I would check out this thread by zland. It should be a good starting point.

The best thing to do first before modifying ANYTHING if your are new to racing is to learn how to drive on the track. Then once you become good enough, you'll start to exceed the car's limits and then you'll KNOW what mods you need.

Then again, if your not into road racing and just want more straight line power, then yes, do a search on Forced induction, etc..

my $0.02.

PS Ditto that on reading zland's post-it's a MUST!

ill be back into a Z... i will... i definately will... i dream about my PPW every night...

Sorry to hear about the financial situation. I don't really knock the Golf GTI's though. Hope you do get back into a Z soon. Good luck to you.

BTW, what kind of company was it, if you don't mind me asking.

the best way for u to go about this is not to do any mods for a little while and use that time just to read anything that even remotely catches ur intrest on this (and other z) forums. this way, u'll learn about the car and how it responds to mods and what u want from ur ride instead of just doing something cause everyone told u to do it.

for appearance mods, look at *alot* of pictures, even things taht u don't like at first, they may grow on u and u may like it better then whatever u liked at first
