Default Doug @ Crawford's vs 2002 E46 M3 6SP

In our quest to hit our target of 300rwhp, we were curious to see how far we had come along.

Since a large majority tends to compare our car to an E46 M3, we figured we would take an honest look at each of our powerbands.

Our local dyno was kind enough to overlay our dyno vs. an `02 6sp for comparison purposes.

I think in knowing that this Z weighs in at a reasonable sub 3200lbs, as opposed to the M3s average of 3400lbs... Including that we now have a far more usable powerband. I know which car I would chose to run a road event.

... Did I forget to mention that the Z with this complete package would still be less expensive than a new M3?

Stock E36 M3s tend to have dreams that they can hang with stock Zs, now we'll go ahead and start letting the Stock E46s dream with them! German this...

im not 100% sure if an M3 can take a Z in twisties.... maybe completely stock... but even with a tire upgrade, I think a stock m3 mite not be able ot hang... but thats just my opinion... feel free to flame

Please note, Doug’s car has custom heads and cams. While plenum and headers will help make the M3 a better adversary, you wont see it disappear in your rearview like in Doug’s car.

It was a joke...you have to go on Bimmerforums to understand it.

Whose M3 did you use for the comparison? Was it building buster boys?

Awesome numbers guys! This is the kit that will soon be available? How would it stand up to one of the TT's? Also, is there much more that could be done to further develop NA power after this project itself is completed?

How will the custom heads part of it be handled. I'm assuming it will be a exchange for some ported heads with all the valve & spring, etc., upgrade goodies. But what has been put into these heads?

You are correct in us "massaging" the heads... What's been done has not even been disclosed to myself. I think that info stays with Doug until the number is hit.

I do know however this is all on the stock valvetrain.
