loosing weight gets more and more expensive as you go, and makes the car rougher and rougher as you go. also, don't forget the weight balance of the car overall, as you normally have an easy time pulling weight from the rear, and a hard time pulling it from the front.

I weighed the CF headlights and they are 1lb a piece. According to BJ, the OEM headlights weigh ~ 15 lbs a pop. So not bad! 28 lb savings!

That's an excellent place to loose weight too!

A couple flashlights and duct tape could solve that problem. I suggest something waterproof.

hey rick, it's awesome that you are litening your Z, but what about weight balance? for the past 3 weeks, i have been running around without a spare tire or jack in the back. i've been to lazy to put it back in. this weekend i went for a trip and had about 70lbs worth of gear PLUS the spare and jack. while having all of this stuff in the car, it felt worlds apart going around corners. i don't know how, but the car felt so much more stable than normal. are you trying to do anything about getting a 50/50 weight distribution?

Whenever you remove weight anywhere, you need to have your car corner balanced in order to maximize your weight loss. That is why an adjustable coilover system is so important. Throw in some toe and camber arms and you can maximize handling even better!

Rickdogg, your car looks awesome! What is your "track ready" weight down to now?

I'm curious about your front bumpers. The last pic is a C-West bumper. What is the front bumper in the other pics?

I'm hovering somewhere between 2700 and 2800 lbs right now with cast wheels. I am waiting to get it corner balanced again since I am putting in a full cage (vs roll bar) and removing the AC system and looking for lighter parts to replace other things on the car
