I allready have the Nismo cat back system.

----------------
Injen Cold air intake
or
Pop charger
----------------

----------------
throttle body polished and larger
ECU re-flash ~ for larger throttle body and higher rpm

Question:
If the engine can go higher RPM with a flash of the ECU, have I done any damage to the engine if I redlined it a couple times as it sits?
-----------------

Headers?
------------------
Final Drive 350Z Performance 3.917 Final Drive and Nismo LSD

Is this worth it ^ has anyone changed their gearing? I would like to know more.
------------------

Tires:
I like to go cornoring at the track and mountains

Looking for either the
Falken: 245/45ZR-17 (Meets SCCA street class requirements.)
or

I have the Injen and had it forever, but I would say get the pop charger.

Forget about the TB and ECU. No point in raising redline when our power drops like crazy towards redline. That would be good for an agressive cam that makes power past redline.

Nismo LSD

I think the BFG's are more for straight line performance.

As far as the redline of the motor and causing engine damage, that's a touchy subject. The rev limit is there for a reason. I know in japan, and in the US some Teams and shops have gotten their Zs revving higher with no trouble. However I'm unsure of what they have done internally to their motors. I've seen Z's rev up to 8k before, but i'm unsure of how that motor was prepped. I would assume that some form of stronger spring or valve/retainer combo would be needed for anything over a few hundred rpms more than stock. Basically, the head is the weak point when considering higher revving on any car.

For the tires, i really recomend the toyo RA1 or S03s by bridgestone.
Also, the final drive will allow your Z to accelerate much quicker than stock, which is a good way of making your car faster without messing with internals. however your overall top speed is reduced.
As for ecu reflashing, i'll let someone else answer that one, as I have a certain opinion on ecu reflashing for any car (not just nissan), that i'll leave to myself. Not that it's bad, just a complicated explination.

and as for intake, the consensus on here is that the JWT pop charger is teh best bang for the buck, since there isn't too much of a HP increase between it and most other intakes out there.

and yes, i agree, unless you put cams in, there is no point in raising the redline. With cams, the car actually creates power up to the stock redline, and probably for a few hundred beyond that, but that's a hassle to do....

ok I am unsure of the point of top speed anyway right now, I am sure non of you go out and drive the car 155 on the freeway everyday, if you do well, you know thats not sane

but I drive the car for the handling, I like the track senario ..that's what I do the most and I never hit over 120 on the straight anyway, its a little over 1/4 mile...
but I would like better acceleration out of the turns, and a little higher RPM through the corners.

but the tires will also help me in acceleration without spin, I am pretty much 3rd gear at the track around the corners.

I like the freeway handling of the car right now, but I am after a Little more "punch" thats afordable.

Thank You for the info.

Has anyone ever driven the Z with the final drive changed?
