Default Tilton semi-street clutch and flywheel

Anyone have this clutch and like it? I had mine in for 24hrs and my car sounds horrible. Its not that hard to learn the clutch but the noise it makes is unbareable in 3rd through 5th gears. And sitting at stop lights I have to explain why my $40,000 + car sounds like a $400 car. Sorry just venting, It wasn't what I expected. The technician who installed it called Tilton and they said thats the way its supposed to be.

Please, if anyone has this clutch let me know how you deal with it. And if anyone wants to buy it, its for sale, make an offer.

Yep! Its supposed to sound like that. I think its cause the flywheel is so small and light. Theres a few good previous threads about this. I'll see if i can find them for you.

I had it in for a while. The noise is annoying..for the most part I just turned my music up and forgot about it. I had it removed but I miss how fast the car would rev up.. I REALLY miss that. The performance made up for the noise 10 times over.

i imagine that the full street and semi street noises aren't too much different, if not, i can make a recording of all of my noises as soon as the car comes out of the shop.

Thanks for the info, but the thread doesn't really tell how much noise this setup makes. It sounds like somethings broken in the transmission. Tilton says thats the way it is. Be warned, this clutch and flywheel setup is not for a car intended for the street, unless you like explaining why it sounds like that at every stoplight. I should have done more research before I bought it.
Thanks again for the info.

it makes a lot of noise as to every part of the fw / clutch package being solid-hubbed, small, and light...

the whole point of the kit is sacrificing every bit of comfort for performance...

it's the "running your Z to straight pipes... or just running it to headers, no pipes..." of driveline mods...
